Overview

Linc has two very important things on his mind--professional football and his motorcycle club.

What he does not have on his mind is the woman that drives him crazy and makes him want to do stupid things, like throw caution to the wind.

Nope, not Linc.

At least, that's the lie he tells everyone.

In reality, every time Conleigh's name is mentioned, he squirms.

She's everything that he wants, wrapped up in a cute little package that is stamped 'hands freakin' off.'

She's four years younger than him, in school to be a doctor, and thinks football is stupid.

Even more, Linc and Conleigh get along like oil and water.

There's not a single second that they're in each other's presence that they're not at each other's throats.

But all it takes is hearing that she's in trouble for Linc to drop every single thing--football and MC duties alike--and head to her side.

A side that he'll remain at until they either kill each other, or finally give into the heat between them.

Either way you look at it, he's well and truly screwed.

I really enjoyed this book. A lot of twists and turns and plenty of angst . Always enjoy Ms. Vale's books.

As I usual Lani wrote another great one. Loved Linc. Cannot wait until the next release.

It's very sad when an author with as much talent as Lani Lynn Vale writes a book like this. So very rushed. Huge chunks of very needed, missing information. Did I mention rushed? Stop phoning it in and use your talent to deliver what we all know you can. Also, I hated...Hated... Conleigh in this book. She was just another generic female until the end when she decided they were both at fault. Really? Both? And then stated she would always react that way. Linc should have dumped her. The way she turned out? Not just dumped her but ran the opposite direction. At this point, Tara would be better. Really, really dreadful book. 2 stars for the quips heading the chapters. They brought it up to 2 from negative 99

I love Lani Lynn Vale. Talkin' Trash has all the makings of a great romance and it doesn't disappoint. It was lovely to catch up with Conleigh as 'Law and Beard' was one of the first books I read by Lani Lynn.

If you have read the other story from this series and then Law & Beard (from Dixie Warden Rejects series, you know that inquiring minds wanted to know what the deal was with Linc and Conleigh as you could feel the tension and feelings these two had for each other but would do everything to keep space from each other. Ever see a grown man squirm when it came to a girl? Well you will when it comes to Linc! See there’s a few barriers blocking him from manning up. You got her dad, the MC, his football career and the fact that she is four years younger than him and has her own career plans. These two may fight and not get along, but underneath you know they are secretly yearning to release their feelings. Well they can keep Talkin’ Trash that they cannot and won’t be together cause after eight years and with Conleigh being an adult now they have waited long enough to duke out their feelings and explore if this can lead to where they both secretly want it to (their HEA). Linc’s patience is wearing thin and oh my do I love him even more when you learn a few things about him. Shocking, but loved it! Football and the MC are his life, but he will stop at nothing to protect her and when she lands herself in some trouble he will put his career on hold to head to her side. He’ll either be screwed or get screwed. haha I always love how Lani throws in characters from her other series cause it makes you smile 99.9% of the time until you see someone appear in this story that you wanted to throttle before and want to throttle again. Boy did I think that person would not be back and wonder where this is going to lead! Lips are sealed, but it’s a shocker let me tell you. Another thing to love about her books is that you don’t have to read her books or series in order. You are never left out of feeling like you need to go back to understand the current story, it just brings a smile to your face when you see a character appear though and miss them. Up next is Wade’s story and the bear claws may just come out based upon the background that we know when it comes to the wife (or ex-wife). Cannot wait!

Waited all this time for Linc and Conleighs story and i feel that the author is just dialing it in now. Wish i had waited to read a sample instead of automatically buyig every book she puts out. This is the second book in a row that is scattered, no depth to the characters - and it feels that she is setting up the storyline just for the next book to be published. Seriously, just not happy with this change

I was a little hesitant before I began this book, because the previous book ripped my heart out (it was an amazing book, that eventually put me back together, but still.....) But I knew who the story was about, and couldn't wait to read it. So, cautiously, I got started. Conleigh was an angry youth, who had been let down too many times, seen her mother go through too many hurts and trials. But when she met Linc at 16, she knew right from the beginning that he was it, the only one for her. Linc knew too, but he was too old for her then. One thing, and then another kept them apart, until he just couldn't stay away any more. And then, when it looks like they are going to find their happy ever after, it all fell apart. Con and Linc's story is one of enduring love. Even when they weren't together, their love was still constant. We saw hints of possibilities in Big Poppa's story, and I just knew theirs was going to be amazing. Their story was beautiful, and one that I will definitely be reading again! I'm loving this series, and catching up with the kids from previous series!

One of the kids of the Dixie Wardens is back with his own book and it is freaking awesome! What did I like about this book … everything! I liked Linc and Conleigh when they showed up in THE BEARD MADE ME DO IT and LAW & BEARD. Conleigh was definitely an angst ridden teenager, but with reason. Linc was a very cool customer and that hasn’t changed. He is still the same cool customer, but now he has a little more experience under his belt and is finally going for what he wants, even if it means making an enemy of a man that he respects. This story was suspense and some action, but not to the degree of some of Vale’s other books. But I found that rather refreshing in this story. After MESS ME UP, which was heart wrenching, I needed a quieter and less emotional book. And TALKIN’ TRASH hit the spot beautifully. The dialogue and situations between the characters were at times amusing and sad, but in typical Vale fashion, I was engaged and ecstatic with the way the book came through. I really enjoyed learning more about how the Bear Bottom Guardian MC came to be and the other characters in the book. Overall, I was very happy with the story and can’t wait for it to continue onward!

From the moment he first caught her eye Linc James became a permanent fixture in her memory bank, he was handsome, sweet, and someone that Conleigh wanted to spend every waking minute around, but her parents put a stop to it fairly quick. With his older age, and the career he was about to start in the NFL, they were certain that he would hold her back from completing her education, and she'd wind up giving up everything for him. So she put her feelings for him on the back burner, did her best to move on and has made great efforts to avoid contact with him... but he never lets her get too far away! Lincoln James has been in love with Conleigh from the first moment he laid eyes on her, but she was younger, naive, and had her whole life ahead of her, and then her parents made it known that he was to keep his distance from her...so he walked away. But made the promise that when the time was right, he was going to try and win her heart, and get his girl. He has abided by their rules for eight long years now, but the wait is over now... From the very first page this action packed story line will pull you in, take your attention hostage, and and keep a tight grip on it until the last page is swiped! There are many things to appreciate about Talkin' Trash; the characters were well crafted and believable, the story line engaging and emotional, and the steam factor was off the charts! This first time read made quite the impression, it fed my sports romance and MC romance addiction, the emotional aspect spoke to heart, it had a unexpected suspenseful twist, that was a nice surprise... I definitely foresee myself being a repeat reader when it comes to this series! Highly recommend!! I requested an advance copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Forbidden love just found a way! With the next book in the Bear Bottom MC series, we get Linc and Conleigh's story. As a new reader to this author with this series, I feel a struggle in trying to keep up with what's happened in the past series sometimes. In some places explanations are weaved into the context, and in others they aren't and the reader is left fending for themselves trying to keep up. This book showed tidbits of the biker lifestyle more than the first in the series, but the intrigue of the bad guy seems forced and lacking in substance. Overall, a solid read with a believable connection between the main couple. Professional football and a motorcycle club don't seem like a likely pairing, but Lincoln James wears it well! He's just coming into the off-season when he hears that Conleigh might have gotten herself into a little trouble that she needs him for. He's been in love with her for years, but he was warned away from her by multiple sources in the MC because she was too young when they met. Since then, she's been a constant thorn in his side as she tries to pretend that she doesn't feel the same things that he does. Nursing is a job that she enjoys, but going to school and trying to move up in that field is not. She feels like she's got too much on her plate right now and something's eventually going to have to give. Now that Linc is hanging around her on a regular basis, she needs even more free time than ever ... after all, she has to pretend she's so busy enjoying life that she's too busy to have anything to do with him, right?

Linc and Conleigh have known each other since she was a 16 year old girl, and from their first interaction, they’ve never strayed far from each other’s thoughts even though they’ve spent a significant amount of time apart living separate lives. For eight years, Linc kept his distance, hoping against hope, that Conleigh would still want him, despite the abrupt way he let her go all those years ago and despite the baggage that comes with Linc’s pro football career, namely the media’s need to invade his life and those around him. Let the trash talkin’ begin. Boy does Conleigh know how to push Linc’s buttons! Since she’s had a number of years to perfect the craft, her sass and her stubbornness are front and center until these two finally get their shit together and finally find a way to be together, and even then, she’s not afraid to use her smart mouth in ways that Linc finds both hot and aggravating. Conleigh’s kind of a hot mess, but she’s the kind of hot mess that a man like Linc doesn’t mind dealing with because at the end of the day, she’s fully his and there’s no one who can prevent them from giving this thing between them a go, even if people try their darnest to do so, including themselves. I wanted to both high five and throttle Conleigh at multiple spots in the story line, but despite my frustration over some of her actions, I also understood them. It couldn’t have been easy for her to accept that what she and Linc had begun building was just over before it ever really started and then to still remain in contact with him even after he put her indefinitely in the friend zone was a true test of patience and fortitude. Out of all of the alpha male heroes Lani Lynn Vale has introduced her readers to, I have to say that Linc is probably the most genuinely nice guy out of the bunch. He’s just good people, and it shows in everything he tries to do to protect Conleigh, to love her, and to ensure that she understands how he feels about her. Things are just as difficult on his end despite how it appears; he just keeps his head in the game and does what he needs to do, preparing for that day when he’s done waiting and goes to claim the one woman who’s owned him since she was 16. I love the dynamics that have always existed between Lincoln and Conleigh, regardless of the distance or the outside influences keeping them apart. It’s made quite clear, early on, that these two are ‘it’ for each other; it’s been that way since they first met, and the fact that Lani Lynn Vale lets her readers in on that nugget of information helps us to be a little more patient when it comes to these two finally getting their shot, and even though they’re bound to mess it up and allow outsiders to influence their actions, it will always be Conleigh for Linc and Linc for Conleigh. There are quite a few secondary characters in Talkin’ Trash that I can’t wait to hear more about; there’s one in particular who has been the antagonist in a number of storylines who I’m eager to understand, so I hope Lani Lynn Vale offers me that insight sooner rather than later…but I guess, we’ll see what happens… 4.5 Poison Apples
