Out of the darkest evil will come the strongest love.

The Bratva is changing, but whenever there's change, there's resistance. I have to prove I'm one of them or else I'm dead.

I wasn't prepared for what they wanted.  They gave me a young and beautiful woman, to defile and break.

With a gun to my head, it's not like I have a choice.

I've never met a woman like her. Damaged, just like me, but with a clever mind that she knows is a dangerous weapon, and curves for days. Every second I spend with her, it becomes less about business, less about the darkness I'm trying to leave behind, and more her. About us, against the world.

We're going to rise above the shadows the Bratva have cast on us.

They made a dangerous mistake. They bound her to me in a way that those monsters could never comprehend. She has a part of my soul now, and I have a part of hers. Soulmates, in a way.

I'm a bad man, but I'm going to do right by her. I'm going to prove to her that even in the darkness, there's always something worth fighting for.

I'll kill them all for her. When it's all over, and she doesn't need me for revenge anymore, we won't be able to walk away from our love.  She's been taken by the hitman, and I won't let her go.

No Cliffhangers. Safe from cheating. Explicit language & swearing.

A Sixth Sense: Rosie’s father, Frank, is a gambler and drinker. Blaming the birth of his twins on his wife’s death, Frank is not the slightest bit interested in them, leaving Rosie to bring them up. Today is Rosie’s 18th birthday and her father has a surprise for her; they are going on a trip and while Rosie is excited, she is not happy at leaving the twins behind. Soon it becomes clear Frank has done the unthinkable; to clear his debts, he has given Rosie away to the Bull. Konstanti reflects on his time in prison and how he gained the favour of the Bratva. Now a decade since his prison days, Konstanti is heading to Brighton Beach as the new Pakhan; he is replacing Sergei, a leader of one of the biggest sex slavery rings. Something in the back of Konstanti’s mind tells him he has been set up for a fight; nevertheless, he welcomes the challenge. At Konstanti’s welcoming party, onlookers watch Rosie’s pain and humiliation as she is offered to Konstanti at gunpoint. Konstanti hates slavery with a passion, but it is clear that what happened on the yacht is a message. Konstanti gives Rosie the option to stay with him or leave and taking all things into consideration, she stays. Konstanti promises to protect Rosie, while also teaching her how to defend herself. Konstanti is determined to eradicate the human trafficking that is rife, knowing there is collaboration going on under his nose; he has a plan to put an end to the slavery, even if it costs him his own life, but can he pull it off? The author has a way of bringing her characters to life and her stories are a pleasure to read; this one is no exception and I enjoyed it very much. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending it. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

I have read several of Alexis Abbott's Hitman books, and this was one by far was my favorite. I am a lover of Alpha guys who are a bit of bad boys but then they also have a sweet side and that is Konstantin to a T. Not only was he so amazing good/bad butt but the way he is with Rosie I melted. Konstantin is a hitman in jail who does a favor and ends up becoming new Pakhan, of Brighton Beach. At his welcoming party he is offered Rosie (my favorite female character, seriously loved that girl) and must take her or watch her be killed. Rosie is a 18 yr old who lives and takes care of her twin sisters, their Momma died during childbirth.Their POS Dad couldn't handle the death and lost himself in the bottle and gambling. He is neglect of all his daughters and he is also abusive to Rosie. He trades Rosie on her birthday to clear off his debt. Rosie is thrust into Konstantin life. I loved Rosie she is not your run of the mill heroine she is strong and resilient, and a little gothic, and just you will fall in love with her. These two start off at an unavoidable and unfortunate situation and turned it into a fantastic love story. My honest review is based on an advanced reader copy of this book.

I enjoyed this story. The characters are great. I really enjoyed Rosie and her strength. She took on the mother role at 10 years old and doesn't resent that. She loves her little sisters and they are so adorable. I wish that we had gotten to see more of them in the story. Konstantin is a good guy. He has some rough edges but from the beginning you know that he has his own moral code that he follows and doesn't compromise. Konstantin and Rosie do not have the best meeting as they are forced into a horrible act. Konstantin quickly starts figuring out how to get them out of it and to end the situation. I liked the way that Rosie and Konstantin built their relationship. We get to see some time pass as this happens, so why things are a little quick it makes sense. There's action and explicit sex. There is also violence. It's good guys (for the most part) against the bad guys. I enjoyed the story and the characters and the connection to some of her past books. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. Rosie is devastated when she is used to pay off gambling debts. Konstantin has been promoted and is now the new head of the Russian mob in Brighton Beach. When Rosie is given to him, and he is forced, at gunpoint, to take her virginity, he plans to wipe out all the men responsible for human trafficking in Brighton Beach. Rosie and Konstantin will end up working together to achieve Konstantin's goal to rid New York of the sex traffickers and they fall in love. Wow, this book has suspense, violence and it is sizzling hot and sexy. Fantastic book, I loved it!

Konstantin has fought and killed and being imprisoned for his country, now he's been sent to America to bring massive changes, but he never envisioned even in his worst nightmares what would happen when he arrived there, now he must try to right the wrongs of all those before him and avenge the woman he just wronged in any way he can. It's Rosie's eighteenth birthday when for the first time in eight years her dad acknowledges her, she wished he'd forget her, leave her to care for her young siblings like she has done for the last eight years, but he has a fate worse than she even dreamed awaiting her. Now not only is she alone, fearing for her sisters, she must guard herself against the man that has situated himself in her life. This was a great story, there were times it jumped forward and I wasn't sure what had happened, but they are incidental in the scheme of things. The story didn't throw away fears, it embraced them and was realistic with the healing process. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. Konstantin is ex spetznaz and currently in prison. He has just made a deal with his new employer....the Bratva. Konstantin travels to New York to help with Bratva business. Nicknamed The Bull, Konstantin is a top assassin, a hitman. They are now asking more of him, something he may not want to give, but will accept for the greater good. He finds himself walking a very fine line. Konstantin knows he's being watched so he must comply or face the consequences. He's being promoted and this means more power to accomplish his plans. Rosie has no plans at the moment, but survival would be good. She's being offered as payment in full. Konstantin learns that Rosie now belongs to him. He is told he must break her, and with no other choice, he does as he is told to save them both. He knows he needs to protect her now. The Bratva wants Konstantin to do their bidding, but he has other plans. This is a story with high stakes riding on the outcome. The Bratva has their hands in many illegal businesses that bring in millions of dollars. Can one man change a way of thinking that has been going on for years? Can one man save so many innocent victims? Can one man save the only woman he's ever cared about? Konstantin knows he can't walk away from Rosie. They can't not be together. Konstantin does need an ally though and he finds one in Andrei, a hitman as well. Andrei has cleansed the Bratva of its more seedy businesses in the past, and Konstantin needs his help and his loyalty now. Konstantin is a man who offered his expertise to the Bratva and was rewarded handsomely. He may not share the same views, but at a time in his life, he needed them and they were there. Rosie has no one but her younger siblings. Her father is basically a non existent parent and she has cared for them since their birth. Rosie and Konstantin are two very mismatched people from opposite ends of the world thrown together hoping for a good outcome. Together, they are stronger. Together, they will not go down without a fight. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK ! ACTION PACKED STORYLINE WITH AWESOME CHARACTERS ! ALSO MY FAVORITE HITMAN, ANDREI FROM "SOLD TO THE HITMAN,"MAKES AN APPEARANCE ....LOVE HIM ! Konstantin and Rosie had AMAZING chemistry; she helped him become less abrasive and more human. He helped her take back her life. THE SEX WAS SMOKING HOT AND STEAMY ! ! ! I ADORE ALEXIS' HITMEN ! ! ! YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK ! ! !
