In this irresistible Stark International Novel, J. Kenner ups the ante on Dirtiest Secret and Hottest Mess, proving once again with the S.I.N. series that she “may very well have cornered the market on sinfully attractive, dominant antiheroes and the women who swoon for them” (RT Book Reviews).

All eyes are on us . . . and there’s nowhere to run.

Everyone has their own ideas about Dallas Sykes: He’s a reckless billionaire, a devilish playboy, a man who gets whatever he wants the minute he wants it. But I know the real Dallas behind the money, bravado, and power—and he’s completely, blissfully mine.

We carefully guarded our secrets, and in each other’s arms we sought refuge from our dark past. Our pain became our pleasure, our control within the chaos. But we could only hide from the truth for so long.

Now we’ve let loose our inhibitions and are ready to face the future. And no matter what people think or say, coming clean is its own sweet reward.

Gone Girl

“She’s not here. Goddammit, she’s not here.”

Dallas Sykes’s blood burned with dread and fear curled in his gut like acid as he stalked down the dark, residential block of Eighty-Second Street, his eyes scanning every nook and cranny, searching for a woman he knew wasn’t there.

This late, the street was deserted, the residents tucked safe in their beds behind the darkened windows of the Upper West Side townhouses that rose like the wall of an inescapable maze on either side of Dallas.

Where? Where the fuck was she?

The area was too damn dark, the few door lights far too dim to be any help at all. Instead, Dallas used the light on his phone to cut through the night as he scoured every damn inch of the street for some sign of Jane. A broken fingernail. A shoe.

God forbid, even blood.

He shuddered, trying to push back his terror. He wasn’t succeeding.

This was his fault, goddammit. His.

He’d hidden the truth from Jane, thinking he was making it better. That he was sparing her more pain. But those buried secrets had burst free, wild and vicious and dangerous. And now she was gone. Missing. Possibly dead—except she couldn’t be dead; the thought was too big, too horrible to even wrap his mind around.

But captive? Oh, dear Christ, what if she’d been thrust back into the horror of their childhood, and all because of him?

“Keep looking.” Liam’s voice—firm, controlled—filtered through the speaker. “I’m showing a signal.”

“Of course I’m going to keep looking,” Dallas snapped. “But she’s not here.” His voice rose, matching his escalating fear. “And neither is her damn phone.”

“Stay with me, Dallas. You can’t help her if you lose your shit.”

“Fuck.” A fresh wave of fear crested inside him, and Dallas had to tighten his grip on his own phone in order to fight the almost irresistible urge to hurl the damn thing to the ground. But he couldn’t. As impotent as his smart phone was at the moment, it was his lifeline to her.

His heart. His soul.

The one person in all the world he craved, needed, loved more than any other.

And Liam was right—he couldn’t help her if he lost control. If he let himself drown in fear and memories.

So he wouldn’t. He’d stay on the street. He’d search. He’d follow every lead. But in the end, he would find her because no other option was even conceivable. He’d find her, he’d rescue her, and then he’d kill the fucking bitch who’d taken her.

Fighting a shudder, he once again looked at the image that someone had sent to him from her phone.

Jane. Beaten and battered.

Jane. Unconscious and helpless on a sidewalk. This sidewalk. Or at least somewhere near here, because Liam was tracking her phone to these coordinates. So where the hell was she?

Slowly, he drew in a breath, then exhaled with just as much precision. “You’re sure this is the location?”

“I’m sure. I’m logged in to her account. I can see the phone’s location on the map. And we’re looking at a circumference of about eight meters.”

Dallas nodded, trusting his friend because he knew damn well that he couldn’t rely on himself. He wasn’t thinking straight at all. The last thing he remembered with any clarity was standing in the new apartment that he shared with Jane, a little shell-shocked after she’d laid into him about the secrets he’d been keeping. She’d stormed out, and he’d forced himself to hold back, knowing that she needed to get her anger out of her system. He’d expected her to take a walk, maybe visit her friend Brody.

He hadn’t expected that she would be attacked. Taken.

He hadn’t expected a repeat of their goddamn childhood.

And he sure as hell hadn’t anticipated that his phone would ping with a text message showing Jane splayed out on the street, her eyes closed and her face battered.

That image had been horrible enough. But what really gave him chills was the carnival-style mask on the ground next to her prone form. A mask just like the one the Woman had worn when she’d entered their cell all those years ago. Like she’d worn when she took him away from Jane. When she’d tortured him for hours—days—on end.

His stomach twisted as his mind filled with images of what she’d done to him. Only this time, it wasn’t Dallas who was the victim of the Woman’s cruel abuse, but Jane.

No. Please, God, no.

“No mask, no Jane. Christ, Liam, where the fuck is she?”

“The guys are on their way. They’ll start going door to door. We’ll find her,” Liam said, but Dallas could hear the fear in his voice, too.

He turned in a circle as he examined the empty street in this quiet, residential area. Jane had to be somewhere, and maybe the Woman had dragged her into one of these brownstones. Maybe someone had seen something, heard something. But the street was empty now. Noah and Tony would go door to door looking for witnesses. But that would take time.

Time Jane might not have.

Her attacker could have taken her anywhere. But she could also be right there, just meters away. She could be watching from a window, her hands tied, her mouth gagged, hope fading as she saw him fumbling in the dark.

Fuck that.

Dallas took another hard look at the area he’d already scoured. No phone.

He stepped off the sidewalk and into the street. Same as it had been two minutes ago. Except . . .

“The gutter,” he said to Liam even as he dropped to his hands and knees, then thrust his arm in up to the shoulder. Absurd, really. If the phone was down there, it would be well out of reach in the storm drain, ready to be washed away with the next rain. He couldn’t get to it, not without—

“I have it.” Then he spit out a curse. Because so the fuck what? The phone wasn’t the woman, and he still didn’t have Jane. And now he knew with absolute certainty that she wasn’t with her phone.

“Open her photos,” Liam ordered. “There wasn’t any location information buried in the picture you received or the text. Maybe the photo was taken in another block. Maybe they attacked her somewhere else and ditched the phone here.”

“Already on it,” Dallas said, a spring of hope bubbling as he tapped and swiped the screen to get the photo to open. Sure enough, there was location information attached. He read the GPS coordinates off to Liam, his body tense as he waited for Liam to send him to a new location.

But all Liam did was whisper a soft “Goddammit.”

Dallas didn’t need to hear more. He knew what that meant. His last line to Jane had been severed.

He cocked his head, thinking.

Maybe not the last, after all.

“Colin awake?”

“Coming around,” Liam said. “We loaded him up with a shit-ton of tranqs, but they’re starting to wear off. I was about to dose him again. Keep him under until Quince can get here from London.”

“No,” Dallas said. “Let him wake up. I’m coming in.”

Will they ever be together or will the law deny them the marriage they so desperately want. Will Dallas's adopted father give him what he needs to marry Jane . This is a brilliant end to the series, the characters are strong, the book has twists and turns it's about two people proving wealth is not everything if you can't be with the person you love.A beautifully written story that I loved I was given this book from the publisher through NetGalley for an honest review

Title: Sweetest Taboo Author: J Kenner Genre: Romance Format: Ebook Shelf: NetGalley Pages: 228 Rating: 5 Heat: 5 Thoughts: Wow, just wow.... As usual Ms. Kenner does a stunning job of wrapping up a story yet leaving you wanting more. Falling in love with the characters, feeling like they've always been a part of your life, and craving to hear more about them. All the twists and turns gluing your eyes to the page, not wanting to miss a thing. I did figure out who the Woman was before it was revealed but the other player involved was a huge shock and so hard to believe. Even though we had an idea who it was, the thought of him being behind the kidnapping just didn't make sense, especially with how he acted after it happened. Totally blew my mind. Another great love story! Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Sweetest Taboo is the third and final installment in the S.I.N. series which revolves around Dallas and Jane's forbidden love. Sweetest Taboo is suspenseful, thrilling and will shock you to the core with everything that happens. The series is a little dark and twisty but if you like that kind of thing, you guys are definitely in for a wild ride. The chemistry between the characters was insane and there was nothing that could come between them. Dallas was honestly hot enough to make the reader want to stand in front of a fan. My god. There was so much happening and the closer I got to the end the more anxious I was to see what would happen and how the series would end. I really enjoyed it! *Disclaimer: A Review Copy was kindly was provided to Reads By Rose by the author in exchange for an honest review. ARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Sweetest Taboo by J. Kenner is the final book in the S.I.N trilogy. I am not a fan of series books, because I want the instant gratification of knowing how the story plays out to the end. However, this trilogy is a fabulous and entertaining read and “Sweetest Taboo” is the perfect ending to Dallas and Jane’s story. J. Kenner maintains the intrigue, suspense and heat throughout. They fight for their sanity, survival, and love and ultimately get their HEA. It is well written with two strong leading characters and a supporting cast that enhances the story line

Exciting, nail-biting finale 5+ stars! Wow. Just when I thought all was lost, the conclusion to this brilliant series just grabbed me by the throat, didn’t let go until the end, where finally, I could gasp for air. Okay, a bit dramatic, but this book was unputdownable! Sweetest Taboo which is a great title for the third and final book in the SIN series appropriately describes the relationship between Jane Martin and Dallas Sykes. In the legal sense, they are sister and brother, adopted when they were young, but don’t share common blood. You will want to read the prior books, Dirtiest Secret and Hottest Mess, to get a thorough understanding of Dallas and Jane’s characters, the bond and pain that they share, and the hurdles they face in being together as lovers. Because of their tortured pasts from a kidnapping seventeen years ago, they know, all too well, how broken they are. Each seeks the other in solace, their dark desires a salve in healing the lifetime stolen from them. But they have to fight for their love, fight for each other against everything that comes between them and the path to HEA. At one point, things looked daunting for Dallas and Jane when so much personal and public taunts get real ugly. My heart ached for Dallas and Jane, I so wanted them to be able to work through a lot of personal issues. Oh, and the twist at the end I didn’t see coming. I kind of had an idea who the Jailer was, but the Woman took me by surprise. Sweetest Taboo is an exquisite ending to a beautiful series. It’s deeply emotional, suspenseful, and will make your heart ache. Ms. Jenner writes her sex scenes like nobody’s business, and there’s plenty, but I love her books that way. She delivers a delicious plot filled with lots of twists, wonderful dialogue, and characters you learn to love. Well done, I enjoyed every word. This series is a definite must read and recommend to all romance readers. *sigh* A copy was provided by Random House Publishing House - Ballatine via NetGalley. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

4.5 stars! I so enjoy the writing of J. Kenner. I have loved each of the books in this series and was so looking forward to the ending. Sweetest Taboo brings us the final installment to this taboo story that is so flipping hot. J. Kenner makes it easy to get sucked into this steaming story. With plenty of hot sex, a bit of suspense, and characters that are full of angst and torturous feelings that get you in the gut. But the ending heals all and leaves you with a satisfying sigh. The S.I.N. series is flipping hot and so naughty in every way. Make sure to start from book one to get the whole effect. * copy received for review purposes and my honest opinion

This story was intense, emotional, and captivating. I was immediately pulled back in and on the edge of my seat. Great conclusion to the series! I have been consumed by the SIN series from the beginning and completely fascinated by Dallas and Jane so I was excited to dive into Sweetest Taboo. These characters have an all consuming connection and passion. There is so much conflict and drama as Dallas and Jane navigate their way through their relationship and all the obstacles before them. There were so many outside pressures compounding in on them and I loved how they seek each other out as their safe place. It's extremely heated and passionate (these two don't lack chemistry that's for sure). I had so much anticipation while reading because I wanted answers and to see if some of my predictions were correct. I would get so excited every time a new dot was connected and couldn't wait for Dallas and Jane to see it too. I can't say more without spoiling it but it had a very intense, raw and emotional vibe to me and I am extremely happy with the conclusion and how the storyline and their relationship played out. I thought the story itself was very fast paced and I flew through it. It did feel a bit rushed at times and treaded into telling not showing territory. It was still a great conclusion to the trilogy but I felt like I was missing the details and depth that was in the two previous stories even though I was getting answers. Loved the drama at the end, that was awesome. Intense right to the very end... intense was the theme for me throughout the book. Loved all the twists and turns, some predictable, some not. I am thrilled that Dallas and Jane got their happily ever after. Complimentary copy received for honest review.

This is the 3rd book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. I love Dallas and Jane and I couldn’t put it down. This is one steamy read as all the answers are revealed. Plenty of suspense and drama. I really liked it.

I give this book 3.5 stars...... I couldn't wait to get my hands on this series. I have loved the other series that I've read by J. Kenner but I was left a little disappointed with this series. I loved the idea of the plot and how taboo it was. Finally something a different then you typical love story. But I struggled a little with the characters at times and with how much sex was in the book. It took away from the story so much so I found myself skimming over those parts and wishing we could on with the story. We do however get all the answers we have been searching for in the first two books. And I was happy with the ending. Even though I didn't enjoy this series the way I thought I would I will still continue to read J. Kenner's books and can't wait to see what comes next.

Sinfully Delicious! J. Kenner does not disappoint with this series. This was full of tantalizing passion, smoldering cravings as well as drama, angst, danger, lust, love, deceit and betrayal. This was an amazingly passionate journey with twists and turns that will leave you breathless. Loved Dallas and Jane's story. Their connection is boundless. Their violent passion and wild heat for each other is off the charts. This series was an addiction I couldn't put down. Loved it. Highly Recommended! The final book in the SIN trilogy, Dallas and Jane are close to finding out the who, what and details about their kidnapping as children. They are siblings and in love. The story backs up into book two which is a good brief refresher and brings you right into book 3. The best parts of this last book was the peace made between Eli, Dallas and Jane. But not before an excruciating amount of pain involved. And we find too in this book that once again Jane is taken, after being assaulted yet again prior to that. At the end of book two she's left Dallas because he held back information from her, essentially lying. Her running leaves her vulnerable. After locating her she comes home with Dallas and he kicks in his overprotective mode. The goal here is to eke out the truth from the involved parties and reach the end goal. Allowing Dallas and Jane to live HEA. I'll keep this short. I locked on to the guilty party at first sight. If you took out 99% of the sex in this book, (was it my imagination that it seemed overdone in this book?) You'd have a short story novella. Jane's ex was still a jerk and did his little interfering game he liked to play. There was drama after drama in this book and I thought is there an end here? Yes, the end did come. I loved Julie, I think she's one of the best writers around. I don't think this book was her best. It felt disjointed at times, it skimmed the surface on feeling with a few exceptions. The over abundance of sex and man I love a good steamy story, was just redundant and seemed to be filler for the pages. I skimmed them. The dialogue was at times vague, even between Jane and Dallas. The end was packaged up nice and tidy with a bow. The series as a whole was a good read. But I wanted more from the last book.

This is a great book; this is the third book in the S.I.N. series written by J. Kenner. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. 4.5 Stars! This stunning conclusion to the trilogy had me wound tight as a result of the drama, tension, feels & heat! This series definitely takes the prize for most epic forbidden romance. This is one of those stories where you don't think there can possibly be a way for them to be together, yet it all turns around for Dallas and Jane, coming together with a satisfying and feel good ending. I expected a little more intensity with sexy times in this conclusion, but there is still plenty of satisfying heat along with some BIG feels.

This book is the third and last part of this series. The story picks up where Hottest Mess left off. Jane has been taken after she ran out of the house to get away from Dallas after finding out the latest bit of news he was keeping from her. Dallas of course realizes that she is missing and an all out search gets started. After quickly piecing some bits of information together, Dallas finally realizes who has taken Jane, and that person is actually The Woman who was part of their kidnapping. Meanwhile, after Jane is beaten around a little, her captors finally release her and the guys find her. After Jane is finally released from the hospital, her and Dallas have a long talk. As much as Jane doesn't want to believe what Dallas is telling her, she ultimately does. The two of them decide they need to tell their parents everything that has happened, even stuff from 17 years ago. After hearing everything, Jane and her mom go for a walk to get some from air. While outside, all hell breaks loose and Jane is kidnapped again! This time Dallas is all guns to wall and plans to end this woman for good. This story was so action packed, it kept you on edge needing to find out where the story was going. It was a sad and bittersweet climax, but their final happy ending was worth all of the sadness they had to first go through. Overall, this was a wonderful ending to such a fantastic series.

Jane and Dallas’ story rocked me to my core. The constant chaos circling them made me want to scream. Why can’t you just leave them alone people? This is how invested I became in this amazing story of a taboo relationship with enough plot twists you have whiplash by the end. At about 75% in I was yelling to no one, “I knew it. I freaking knew it.” J. Kenner writes such an intense and suspense filled story. It’s hotter than sin and all wrapped up in a perfect 5 Stars series. Sweetest Taboo is the perfect ending to what is the most delicious erotic tale of forbidden love and the most taboo relationship of all. I highly recommend this series to anyone that is in need of an erotic mystery with a twist.

WOW! What a conclusion to this roller coaster of whodoneit, should-not-have-done-that, did-they-really-do-that, oh-yeah-they-did! and what a conclusion it is. This is an emotionally charged series and this installment does not break stride and is a page turner. It begins immediately where the second book ended. I ended that on a gasp and started this with a cry of outrage for Dallas and Jane. So many feels and so much drama. Start this series at the beginning and settle in for a ride! I will say I formed an opinion early on and was satisfied with the outcome. **Received a copy of this from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

3.75 stars-- SWEETEST TABOO is the third and final installment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult S.I.N. erotic, romance trilogy focusing on adopted siblings Dallas Sykes and Jane Martin. Dallas is the heir to a billion dollar enterprise, and Jane is a child advocate, and author. The S.I.N. series is a spin off from J.Kenner’s STARK series. SWEETEST TABOO should not be read as a stand alone as the story line continues upon the events of the first two books, and picks up immediately after book two. SOME BACKGROUND: Seventeen years earlier, Dallas and Jane were victims of a brutal kidnapping that left our couple emotionally and psychologically scarred but none more so than Dallas Sykes. In the hopes of capturing the people responsible, Dallas and his former SEAL buddies are the founding members of a vigilante organization known as Deliverance that uses alternative measures to exact revenge, and all information points to someone close. Told from first person point of view (Jane) and third person perspective (Dallas) SWEETEST TABOO follows in the aftermath of Dallas’s reveal of who he believes was responsible for the abduction and torture seventeen years earlier. As Jane and Dallas begin to piece together all of the information leading to the same conclusion, threats of another nature target Jane in the hopes of destroying her relationship with the man that she loves. Once again, SWEETEST TABOO and the S.I.N. series continues to be a sexually graphic story line about a taboo relationship between adopted siblings. The psychological and emotional damage inflicted upon on our story line couple continues to perpetuate through threats and the knowledge that their kidnapper and abuser is someone they know. The media and paparazzi hassle the couple taking aim at their ongoing relationship. The $ex scenes are numerous, graphic and erotic, although our hero is no longer in the same, dark place he once was because of the love he shares with the woman of his heart. Sadly, many of the $ex scenes felt like filler-I was more interested in the actual story and found myself skimming to get on with the plot. I was hoping for a little more meat to the story and in the end it felt like a rush to the finish. For me, the person(s) responsible for the kidnapping was easily deduced (and predictable) from book one but for others the revelation may not be as obvious. The taboo of adopted siblings in a sexual relationship may be difficult for some readers but they are not blood relatives- only two people raised together due to tragic circumstances. SWEETEST TABOO is the culmination of two people struggling with their love for one another under the public and private scrutiny of taboo relationships and forbidden love. The premise is suspense filled and entertaining but oft times melodramatic; the characters are passionate and memorable; the romance is heartbreaking and emotional; a struggle towards a happily ever after.
