Roman is book 7 in the Cold Fury Series and I have to say each book is getting better and better, I don't say this lightly after reading book 6 Max I was sure Sawyer Bennett had peaked but not so Roman is so much more. We get a couple of new characters in the mix and if you are looking for a sexy bad boy look no further than Roman...... Lexi Robinson has come to Raleigh to meet the family she never knew she had and that family just happens to be the upper management of the Cold Fury Organisation, having the team bad boy trying to catch your attention is maybe not the smartest move when you are trying to connect with your new family...... Roman Sykora does what he wants when he wants and with who he wants and he has his sights set on Lexi. He is a loner with an impulsive cocky attitude and he is not Gray Brannon the general managers favourite player she needs to get him to shape up or ship out...... Roman has never been a one woman man but Lexi will never be just a puck bunny, will she be the one to tame the bad boy and get him to settle down and step up as the player everyone knows he can be or will his social media blunders win the day...... This book is so good for so many reasons, it's a love affair that's built around a tight family of not just real family members but also team mates that protect their own, it's got some amazing characters that are so different but they gel in so many ways, it's sexy and funny and I can't wait for the next book in this series which I believe is Lucas who happens to be Max's younger brother. Another fantastic read from Sawyer Bennett

5 star Review Roman (Cold Fury Hockey #7) by Sawyer Bennett This is book 7 in the series and another winner for Sawyer Bennett in my humble opinion. These books keep getting better and better and I fear I may have found another book boyfriend; after reading the previous book in the series, Max I was certain he was my favourite, now I'm not so sure. When Lexi Robertson moves to Raleigh to contact and meet up with her father Brian Brannon and her half sister Gray, little does she know that a chance meeting with Roman will change both their lives forever; not only will she find a family that wants her, but a man who despite being her total opposite, is her soul mate. I love a bad boy and Roman Sýkora is certainly one of those. I connected with Roman from the start and I have to say that I fell for the feisty and quirky Lexi just as much. These two just seemed to be two halves of a whole, meant to be together. I was attracted to Roman's character from the first page and couldn't put the book down; I so wanted these two to get their happily ever after. I really enjoyed the camaraderie between Roman and Lexi, it was obvious that these two really liked each other and thoroughly enjoyed their time together, not just on a sexual level. I love that Ms. Bennett's characters are always so varied and that their struggles are so believable. In Roman, not only is there the struggle of a new love, but of building a relationship at the same time with a family Lexi only recently found out about, throw in the fact that Roman and Gray cannot stand each other and it makes interesting reading. This is not only the story of Roman and Lexi but of Brian and Georgia who happen to meet when Brian goes to Lexi's work to watch her perform. I loved the glances we got of these Brian and Georgia and I wouldn't mind in the least if they got their own expanded book. It is so refreshing to read a love story between an older couple, something we rarely see in the romance world. Roman is smoking hot , arrogant and yet at times so vulnerable, a real keeper in my opinion. There were times throughout the book that I wanted to smack Gray around as she struggled with her relationship with Lexi and with Roman, but in the end Ms. Bennett brought the story to an awesome conclusion that had me falling even harder for Roman. This series is to me a family and I loved catching up on the previous couples and seeing what is happening in their lives. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series as it keeps getting better and better.

Book 7 in the Carolina Cold Fury series and we have two love stories for the price of one! We follow Roman Sýkora (ice hockey's bad boy both on and off the ice), and Lexi Robertson, (free spirited ukulele playing barista), as they navigate the minefield of relationships, family and ice hockey management. Cold Fury's owner Brian Brannon gets a 3rd POV (which I loved) as he dips his feet in the dating pool with Lexi's boss and surrogate mother Georgia. Once again Sawyer Bennett blew me away with her storyline, characters and writing, I could really get in the mindset of the characters and my eyes watered on more than one occasion. I loved Lexi's no bull$#!T attitude and the way she handles sticky situations, she's a breath of fresh air. Sexy bad boy Roman is the perfect match for Lexi and I've got to say they bring out the best in each other. Sadly outside of Roman and Ryker we don't get to interact with the rest of the team, can't wait for Lucas' story though, I just can't seem to get enough of the Carolina Cold Fury boys. A full 5 star read. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the suspense that was in this love story! Kellan is a successful hockey player and he’s tired of all the puck bunnies chasing him. He would love to meet a nice girl that where they can enjoy each other’s company. When he meets Kristen, a bar tender where he goes, he feels a sudden chemistry. The only problem is that she won’t go out with him. Now he just has to wear her down. And that he does. Kellan knew that they would get along beautifully. Kristen is smitten with Kellan but she’s afraid her past is going to catch up with her. How can she be honest with him and maybe end up losing him. Great story!

Loved this so very much!!! Roman and Lexi were awesome! They had the most endearing, infectious personalities ever and they made me ridiculously happy! This was such a sweet, wonderful story that was flirty and fun and I couldn't get enough. Amazing read! The characters were fantastic. I adored Lexi. She had such a great personality and I liked her spunk and how she could hold her own in the banter department. Roman, I am so in love with this guy! He’s this fun trouble maker and it’s so adorable, but he’s so much more than the bad boy people see. Watching him fall for Lexi was amazing. There were just so many sweet, swoon worthy moments and underlying feelings of emotion happening, it was just the best. There was such an ease to the two of them getting to know each other that seemed so genuine, I couldn’t help but love it. This story totally packed a punch because I felt like it was two stories in one. I loved the secondary story that was intertwined, honestly it made me ridiculously happy because everyone deserves a happily ever after. It's a unique situation that was introduced as Lexi joins the Cold Fury world but I love how it played out. There's conflict between some characters and tensions run high creating drama, I couldn't wait for that story to be resolved. I was happy while reading because the characters just had a wonderful, positive vibe happening. The writing was great. Excellent build and details. I hung on every word and couldn't turn the page fast enough. I thought it was an amazing read. Love the story and the details but most of all I loved the feeling of happiness from these genuinely awesome characters. This series has quickly become an absolute favorite of mine, I highly recommend it.

OMG Can They Get Better..... Loved this story which turned out to be a two for one when the CEO of the team finds a daughter he didn't know he had and a new wife all in one story that is really about Roman, hot hockey bad boy, and the newly found daughter Lexie... So much fun when a truly bad boy finds his match and she is almost as bad as he is but in a different kind of way... This is a great series and I cannot wait for each book as it comes out.. Even if you don't like hockey you will love these books .. Sawyer Bennett is a fabulous writer...

While this one doesn't have the big emotional upheaval that some of the earlier Cold Fury books does, there is still a lot of good feelings going on here. And I for one enjoy an angst free romance from time to time :) Roman may be a troublemaker but he isn't a bad guy. He just enjoys life in a big way and it occasionally causes some waves. From the moment he meets Lexi, though, things are different and with a little faith he proves himself to be a worthy boyfriend. It takes a lot of guts for Lexi to come to NC and confront Brian with her news. We know that he's a fantastic dad to Gray and he proves that he's a genuinely good guy by immediately accepting Lexi into his life. Unfortunately it's a little harder for Gray to accept, but Lexi has such a warm and upbeat personality that she quickly wins her over. Unfortunately the tension between Gray and Roman intrudes on Lexi's life and causes a bit a trouble. But she's a smart girl and with a little help quickly figures things out. I think the most fun thing about this is that we also get Brian's POV here - he not only finds out that he has another daughter but thanks to Lexi he might also find a woman who can liven up his life. He's gotten a little buttoned up over the years and he needs the shake up that he has coming! It's super sweet and brings a little extra joy to the story. Some family drama and a couple of romantic entanglements make Roman a great Spring read. It perfectly shows off Bennett's smooth writing style and knack for creating fun-to-read characters. I'm excited to see what she brings us next! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

This story is an example of why the Cold Fury series is one of my favorite series of all time. A little different from the previous stories, as it involves the owner's long lost daughter so you have that point of view. This is a great story and I can't say enough of how much I enjoyed it. So worth the loss of sleep to read this story.

Sawyer Bennett has added another awesome addition to her Carolina Cold Fury Hockey series with Roman! The story features Roman as the current bad boy of the team and Lexi, a barista and musician who happens to be the daughter of the team's owner. Lexi is working to build a relationship with her new found family and while meeting her father she runs into Roman. They are instantly drawn to each other and soon Roman convinces Lexi to go out with him. All goes well until Lexi's older sister Grace, who is also the team manager, discovers their new romance and guilts Lexi breaking up with Roman. Lexi is miserable and soon takes her father's advice to follow her heart. She and Roman begin to date and a beautiful romance ensues! The main story is paired with cute secondary romance between Lexi's dad and boss. If your a fan of bad boys with hearts of gold and really fun and quirky heroines, this is the book for you! I was given a free copy for an honest review .

A sweet, sexy and endearing hockey romance. NHL defense man Roman Sýkora marches at the beat of his own drum on and off the ice. No matter how much bad publicity he gets from tabloids though, he’s committed to give his all to his team. But management doesn’t agree and is pressuring him to tone down on scandals and cut back on his penalty time. The good news is that a spirited ukulele playing barista has captured his full attention, eliminating problem one. The bad news is that she’s the owner’s newfound daughter garnering unwanted attention from the general manager and Lexi’s half-sister. After her mother’s death, Lexi Robertson’s life would never be the same. On her deathbed, her mother revealed that her father was none other than the owner of Cold Fury, current NHL champions. Lexi moves to North Carolina to meet and build a relationship with her new family, she’s also excited to be going out with the team’s teddy bear disguised as the big bad wolf. But can she stay out of the complications between Roman and her new family? You’d think that after reading six books in a hockey series, the story lines would start to feel the same but Sawyer Bennett always makes her novels unique. With Roman, we don’t just get one love story, we get a twofer plus, alongside Roman and Lexi’s romance, there’s more Ryker and Gray and Brian Brannon’s very own love story. That’s right, the Cold Fury’s owner gets his own HEA. After his wife’s death Brian had tried to move on and briefly dated a lovely woman with whom he had Lexi even though he hadn’t known she existed until she shows up in his office. He welcomes her with open arms and in doing so he’s introduced to Georgia Mack, a woman who is his complete opposite, determined to shake, rattle and roll his too proper CEO britches. On the other end of the age spectrum, we have Roman who is caustic, cocky and nonconformist. He’s also a sexy, caring and capable of being ovary exploding sweet. Because even though he likes his loner lifestyle, the pull to be with the funny, mischievous and carefree barista is natural and undeniable. Lexi and Roman definitely chemistry but as they see each other for who they are, they fit together perfectly. Their relationship develops organically with heavy flirting, plenty of innuendo and sizzling hot sexy times. The problems in their relationship is that he doesn’t crave a family like Lexi does or that he’s afraid of commitment. Their main source of tension comes from Lexi’s half-sister Gray who doesn’t like Roman’s attitude and is a bit jealous and wary of Lexi. Roman is book #7 in the Cold Fury series by Sawyer Bennett. It is a sweet and sexy, easy to read standalone sports romance. A must for Cold Fury fans. Told from various points of view (Lexi, Roman and Brian) and has a happy ending.

Swooning for Roman. Roman Sykora is everything and more...he's the bad boy you want and then the sweetheart you need. I love that Sawyer compiled 4 mini stories into 1! We got a closer glimpse into Ryker and Gray's life. Dug deeper into Brian aka Dad's world and then the main focus was of course Roman and Lexi. Another fantastic 5 star read from Sawyer.

OMG!!!! I loved this novel! Lexi is a carefree, fun-loving, ukulele-playing, young woman who wants nothing more than to get to know her family. Her mom, who passed away of cancer 10mths ago, informed Lexi that her dad was Brian Brannon--CEO of Cold Fury. Lexi's mom had kept this secret from her and her father. So Lexi studies the team, her dad, and Gray so she'll be familiar with them when she meets them. Lexi sets up a meeting with Brian to let him know and to offer a DNA test. Gray, having been an only child and the sole object of her dad's affection is less than welcoming. She's not willing to include Lexi into the family until the results are back. However, she is willing to get to know her possible sister. Along the way, Lexi catches the eye of Cold Fury's "bad boy". Roman wants Lexi, but senses she's "different" so he's willing to take things at her pace. Roman also doesn't get along with Gray. Gray's the GM of Cold Fury and Roman's latest bad boy ways have him in the doghouse with Gray. She uses her position and her "new" relationship with her sister to draw a wedge between Lexi and Roman. While trying to please everyone, Lexi comes to the realization that she's not happy without Roman, so she tells Gray she's going to date him anyway because she has to follow her heart. During Lexi's birthday celebration, Roman and Gray get into an argument where Gray threatens to trade him. Lexi overhears them tearing each other apart, so she leaves her party. She tells her dad to let Roman and Gray know they are not to contact her until they work it out....Later that night, Lexi is hit by a drunk driver. Gray calls Roman to let him know about the wreck. When he arrives at the hospital, he's afraid he may never be able to make it right. Can he and Gray set aside their differences to make Lexi happy? I loved how quirky and funny Lexi was. I liked how Roman saw Lexi for who she really was. I loved that Roman didn't try to take over Lexi's life, pay for things, etc. I truly appreciated Georgia and Lexi's mother-daughter relationship, even though they weren't related by blood. Then Georgia and Brian's relationship.....too funny! This novel ends with a HEA and no cliffhanger! I read a gifted copy of this novel and all opinions stated are my own.

Roman, A Cold Fury Hockey Novel,  Sawyer Bennett Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre:   Romance,  I love Sawyers writing style, the way she creates characters that I find feel real, that I can believe in, and plots that I could see happening. Well, almost all, there’s a couple that haven’t worked for me, but then each book is individual and even if I love an authors style that doesn’t mean they’re an auto buy for me. I’ve enjoyed a couple from the Cold Fury series, each are stand alone but the characters are connected via the CF team so you don’t need to read them all to follow the series. I’m not a sports enthusiast either, have never seen an ice hockey match, its not a big sport in UK....but I still can enjoy this series as it just provides background and a setting for the plots. So – Roman, bad boy and proud of it, its what he's known for, brings results, keeps him in the public eye, and makes him money. Its kind of unfair the way manager Gray pushes him for it as its one of the reasons he’s so popular, and why her team wanted him in the first place. Dichotomy time: she wants him to be bad enough to help the team win, to bring in the publicity, but not that bad that it brings the team into disrepute. Roman’s got a tough line to straddle, trouble is they’re not agreeing where the line is drawn. Then Lexi comes into the story, waiting to meet her father – and give him the news that he is her father – she gets chatting to Roman. He’s entranced by her and they start dating. Brian, team owner, is convinced by her story right from the off and delighted to meet her, but his other daughter, Gray, isn’t so convinced and is pleased he’s having a DNA test done – Lexi’s suggestion. She comes to like Lexi though while they’re waiting for results but isn’t so keen on her dating Roman, for her the team is mega important and she worries that Roman may bring negative publicity to them if things go wrong between him and Lexi once the news of who she is gets out. Its a great story, with a second helping of romance between Lexi’s boss Georgia – a fab woman, I want to be her – and Brian. I love the way Lexi is such a sweetheart, everyone loves her and yet she’s not a spoiled lady, she’s a hard worker, happy with her life even though its not been easy, and that seems to rub off on everyone. The scenes between her and Roman were perfect, hot and sensual yet not OTT, and it showed him in a different light to the cocky, aggressive public side he presented. It was good to see more of Gray and Ryker and the kids too – they were in an earlier book and I love when we catch up with characters in a series like this. Its a great read, great love story, solid plots and scenes, and a nice touch of drama towards the end. Being me I’d have liked that to play out a little longer, to be taken a bit further, I love some angst in a story and this could have taken more but its perfect for others just this way and I really enjoyed it as it is.   Stars: Five, a great addition to the series. A little more drama and angst would have been a five but it’s a solid four. ARC supplied for review purposes by Netgalley and Publishers

I've been waiting for this book forever! As much as I love this series, Roman was definitely not my favorite.....Zack still holds that place with Max as a close 2nd. It's still an engaging story and I loved Lexi! As the heroine, she was so honest and steady..........not prone to misunderstandings and with a very forgiving nature. This book was a bit different because not only did Ms Sawyer write about Lexi and Roman, it was also about Brian(Lexi's dad) and Georgia. This is a part of. the book I had a bit of a problem with.....due to Georgia's attitude. I get she is n independent free spirit but she was annoying. She kept saying the Brian was a stick in the mud and accused him of having a stick up his butt..........which was a huge disservice to Brian. He has never been portrayed as such..........he' loves Gray and his possible daughter Lexi unconditionally and alway gives the advice to give love a chance. This is not characteristic of someone who is not open to change and love. I also just found Georgia a bit too much in your face. Another part of the book I couldn't come to terms with is how Gray was portrayed. In Ryker, she is portrayed as a brilliant GM, fair, steady with a big heart. In this book she is portrayed as a hot emotional mess, petulant, and vindictive. Part of the reason being is that she is pregnant. Yes , hormones do run a bit rampant during pregnancy BUT a total personality change does not happen. A lot of pregnant women work through their pregnancy making important decisions and taking care of their families without becoming a hormonal mess. Overall though the romance between Lexie and Roman was very sweet.....she was very patient with him and his issues. I felt for Roman and his sterile could see how hard it was for him to connect to people when he never had that growing up.

I liked this book, I felt it was a little different from the other Cold Fury books. Roman definitely beats to his own drum, I liked him a lot. Lexi, I am not sure about her and her connection to the story. Roman is a bad boy who has never really fit in, she is a free spirit who is looking for her family who never knew she existed...... and this part of the book was hard for me. I felt the chemistry between Roman and Lexi, but I did not enjoy the story line and interactions between her sister and her.... I felt like it was not developed enough and there were feelings and things done to divide their relationship and her relationship with Roman. I liked reading about Lexi and Roman, but was not fan of the interactions between Lexi and her new found sister. Lexi is strong in who she is with Roman, but waivers with who she is with her farther a bit, but does not feel she can be her with her sister. I liked the book, it was a good read, but did not love it as much as I loved the others.

You gotta love these Cold Fury guys!! Each book stands alone, but they do have interconnections throughout. This one features Roman who is a "balls to the wall" type of guy - both on the ice and off and Lexi who is a free-spirit who enjoys playing the ukulele at the local coffeehouse. Lexi meets Roman by chance and fate when she finally takes the final step to introduce herself to her father, Brian Brannon who just happens to be the owner of Roman's hockey team, Carolina Cold Fury. Oh - and the GM just happens to be Lexi's half sister and not a big fan of Roman's antics. While Roman may have a reputation (which is well deserved) of being a bad boy and a player - he is one of the sweetest men of the series, in my opinion. His and Lexi's chemistry is sizzling and Lexi definitely brings out a side to Roman that no other woman has seen. Add to this that we get to see Brian have his own HEA - that was another favorite part to have his story interlaced with his new daughter's and to enjoy the bantering with Gray and Ryker. It was a true treat all the way around. And the ending - OMG - you have to have fallen in love with Roman by then. There are certainly bumps along the way - it's hard to try and fit in with your new family, especially when one of them is at odds with your new boyfriend. It's a tricky road to navigate, but Lexi does just fine. I found her character refreshing and Roman was definitely not what I expected. He was sweet, charming and adorable!! This is a fantastic series and I can't wait for Book #8!

I really enjoyed this book. I was surprised by how many things were happening during the story and how nicely everything worked together. Although this is the seventh book in the Cold Fury Hockey series, it could be read as a stand alone novel since each book in the series really does tell its own story. Readers of the series will enjoy seeing characters from previous books play an important role in this installment. This was a story that hooked me right away and I found myself having a hard time setting the book aside. Lexi is an amazing character and really the focus of this story. This book wasn't only focused on romance although romance played an important role. Lexi has moved to town in order to meet her father, who happens to be Brian Brannon, the owner of the Cold Fury Hockey Team. Lexi's father doesn't know anything about her until they meet. During her first trip to the Cold Fury office, Lexi meets Roman and there is an instant attraction. I liked Lexi and Roman together and thought that they made a great couple. They just seemed really good for each other and had a lot of chemistry. It was fun watching bad boy Roman try to figure out how to be in a relationship. I also really liked watching the relationship between Lexi and her father develop. They accepted each other almost immediately and it seemed so right. Lexi's relationship with Gray was a little more painful to see develop but it felt completely realistic. I really liked the fact that this book was told from three different points of view. I didn't expect it but it really worked well. Getting a chance to really see what was happening from Lexi, Roman, and Brian's point of view really made the story work. Each character had a lot of emotions wrapped up in everything that was going on and getting a chance to be in their head for part of the book just made everything feel more real. I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. This book really tells a big story with a lot of emotion and it was really nice to watch everything develop. I can't wait to read the next book in this fun series! I received an advance reader edition of this book from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley.

Loved , Loved this engaging as well as enthralling sports romance that has so much more going for it than a regular sports romance. Sawyer Bennett sure knows how to bring it with a cast of characters that are so relatable and made for each other as well as each story in this series is better than the last. Loved the triple POV in this story it was brilliant. The romance is fresh and different but always heartwarming because these men are all about their women.
Loved Lexi Robertson who has come to Raleigh North Carolina to meet her father and half sister but along the way meets Roman Sykora. Loved Lexi’s with her quirky, laid back yet charming personality along with her ukulele playing.
Loved cocky, Roman that he was so intrigued by Lexi that his playboy, bad boy ways were immediately a thing of the past.
But I really loved that we were gifted with two Love stories in this story. Loved seeing Lexi’s father get swept off his feet by her boss, and mother figure Georgia, with her sexy, sassy, straight shooting southern, gal demanding ways.
Sawyer Bennett writing is engaging, enthralling and she also gave us pages of delicious sexiness as well as a story that was her most romantic yet. I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love and was utterly giddy, smiling like a young school girl in love.
Finding Love and a new family with a lot of Hotness was a winner or goal. Couldn’t put it down and read this in one sitting. Loved it! Highly recommended! I voluntarily requested an ARC of this book through NetGalley and agreed to post a honest review.

Lexi comes to Raleigh to meet her father Brian who is the owner of Cold Fury. She's come to try and get to know her father, her half sister is the GM of the team and works in the office. Gray isn't exactly what I'd call sister material. Lexi does get on well with her Father. It was a delight watching their relationship unfold, as well as Brian's new found happy place. It's there she meets Roman, who is the tough guy (read teddy bear) and these two click like two peas in the pod. It's a rare read that puts two people together the way Sawyer matched these two. I loved it. It was honest and real. Despite Gray being a witch on a broom and trying to thwart things between them, they were smarter than that and just kind of rolled with it. Very little angst and that's my kind of book. It's a great read, this is my favorite so far. Sawyer wrote this to perfection. **arc from Net Galley and Publisher in exchange for a fair review**

This is a great book; this is the seventh book in the Cold Fury Hockey series written by Sawyer Bennett. Roman Sykora is a defenseman for the hockey team Cold Fury and he gets plenty of negative publicity. When he’s not chilling in the penalty box, the sizzling Czech skate demon is racking up tabloid headlines for his scandalous behavior with the ladies. But now Roman’s feeling the burn from management to clean up his act, or else. Luckily he’s got an enticing distraction: a fun loving barista who plays the ukulele and brings out a side of Roman he didn’t know he had. Lexi Robertson came to Raleigh, North Carolina, to finally meet her father, Brian Brannon, and her half sister, Gray, both of whom work in the Cold Fury’s front office. That’s where she first meets sexy, intimidating Roman—who’s really a big softie at heart. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

4.5 stars I really enjoyed Roman by Sawyer Bennett. Roman and Lexi were likable, passionate and endearing characters. From the first meeting I found myself connecting with them. They entertained me with their flirting and the way they would tease each other. I was very happy watching their relationship unfolded and knew with all my heart that these two had found true love. Going in I wasn't sure how I would feel about having a 3rd POV, but to my surprise I loved it! It was fun and enjoyable hearing from Brian Brannon, Lexi and Gray's father and owner of the Cold Fury Hockey team. I found Brian's voice added depth to the storyline and boy did he make me laugh & swoon watching him find his own HEA. Overall, Roman was another page turning read by Sawyer Bennett and a wonderful addition to the Cold Fury Hockey series. Roman is the 7th book in the Cold Fury Hockey series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them all!
