Matthew "Wolf" Steel hated flying commercial. Luckily his job as a Navy SEAL meant he didn't have to do it very often. He'd been unlucky enough to be assigned a middle seat on the cramped jet, but fortunately for him, the woman next to him was willing to switch seats with him. Hoping for a relaxing flight, Wolf was pleasantly surprised at the good conversation and sense of humor the woman had as they flew 36,000 feet over the countryside.

When Caroline boarded the plane to Virginia to move across the country for her new job she never expected to be seated next to the hottest guy she'd ever seen. She also never expected he'd be so easy to talk to. She knew he'd never be interested in talking to her if he hadn't been trapped in the seat next to her, but it was a nice way to spend a long plane ride.

Neither Wolf nor Caroline were prepared for a terrorist hijacking of their plane, but if Caroline thought that would be the last time she'd see, or need, Wolf, she'd be sorely mistaken.

**Protecting Caroline is the 1st book in the SEAL of Protection Series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but it's recommended you read the books in order to get maximum enjoyment out of the series.

The action starts almost immediately and does not let up until the epilogue. And that was a good lead in to the next book. I am a sucker for a good romantic suspense novel, and this one did not disappoint. The sex was mild, more suggestive than explict, and the character development was pretty good, albeit somewhat confusing at first. I grew up in a military family, and the use of not only your given name but your nickname crosses all branches of the Services. Even so, I got a bit confused trying to keep everyone straight. However, that is not a complaint, merely an observation. This book was well edited, thank goodness! It is one of my pet peeves to spend good money on a book only to find poor sentence structure, mis-spelled words and lackluster character development. So Ms. Stoker gets an A for this book. It would have been an A plus if the book had been longer or some scenes fleshed out a bit. All in all, I say Well Done! Hope to see more of Wolf/Matthew and Caroline in future books. A very good read. Diane in JAX

Make sure that if you're looking for action, adventure, heroics, suspense, and some (toned-down) romance, you GRAB THIS BOOK! For those who don't appreciate graphic sex scenes, I don't think this will offend you. There is romance, but it is discrete. There is some, what I would consider, graphic violence, but that adds to the suspense and provides motivation for the story's progression. When an "ordinary" woman exhibits EXTRAordinary courage, she proves to be every bit as endearing as our hero SEALs. You really will enjoy this suspenseful read! (And no, I did not receive an advance copy of this, nor do I know the author....but she has joined my faves!). LGM

Loved this book. Best I've read in a long time. Warning. If you're tempted to buy the next book, Alabama, don't expect it to be anywhere near as good as this one. It was a real let down.

Amazing book. Detailed but classy and everything flowed well together.

I really do not understand the positive reviews for this book. Thank God I got it for free. Pages and pages of inner dialogue before they would say two words to each other!! Very weird. I did not finish. Rolled my eyes one too many times and just couldn't do it. Not enough positives to outweigh the negatives.

Was the author afraid we would forget the names of the characters? This is one of my biggest pet peeves when I read a book. It distracts me from the story. There is nothing wrong with using he or she instead of writing their names over and over. That wasn't my only problem with this book. The heroine was a whiny twit. "Nobody ever notices me, but don't feel bad for me." It read like a high school drama. I definitely will not be reading anymore of this series.

I love to read about Navy SEAL's falling in love. I REALLY love it when they fall in love with the girl nextdoor the one that is the plan jane. I feel like it grives us woman that are not a size 2 a fighting chance. They fall for the one that can kick some butt themselves and themen they fall for. So thank you Susan Stoker for giving us plan janes hope. Will read all of your books. Reading mama

It is action packed but not very realistic. I hated how the author would switch back and forth into third person reference. How many times can you say SEAL in 100+ pages and SEALS never leave a SEAL behind! We get it they are SEALS!

Good, realistic plot, but could have been fleshed out more in certain areas. Also, could have had more romance and some steamy parts. Heck, what are great seals for, if not some steam?

If it wasn't for bad luck, this woman would have none. Somewhat unrealistic, hijacking, kidnapping, beating, drowning..

This is the book that stated my Susan Stoker reading addiction! If you like stories that are action packed, romance throughout (no sex in this one), tough as nails hot alpha men, and a roller coaster ride like no other, then this book is for you!! This is the first book in Susan Stoker's Seal of Protection and, what can I say? Just W O W ! ! ! It starts off with people getting on a plane. It ends with people getting blown up and a hot alpha team leader with his head so far up his butt, he can check his own tonsils. (LOL) Can he save her? Can she save everyone on the plane? Can she save him?? You'll have to read to find out.

There was a bit of redundancy, but the action packed dire situations made it entertaining.
