Overview

Peter and Wendy
J. M. Barrie
Illustrated by F. D. Bedford

Peter Pan; or, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up or Peter and Wendy is J. M. Barrie's most famous work, in the form of a 1904 play and a 1911 novel. Both versions tell the story of Peter Pan, a mischievous yet innocent little boy who can fly, and has many adventures on the island of Neverland that is inhabited by mermaids, fairies, Native Americans and pirates. Peter has many stories involving Wendy Darling and her two brothers, his fairy Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, and the pirate Captain Hook. The play and novel were inspired by Barrie's friendship with the Llewelyn Davies family. Barrie continued to revise the play for years after its debut until publication of the play script in 1928.

What an amazing book. The writing style is impressive, it is easy to understand but nit the kind if easy that makes you set it down to pick up another book. This book is great for reading to a child or reading for pure enjoyment.

I loved this story when I was a child but only had the Disney version. I now read this with a child's eyes and enjoy the story so much more. A great classic!

This particular ebook DOES NOT HAVE TYPOS. Nor headers/footers from the pages have been left in. I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE LEAVE REVIEWS FOR THE WRONG BOOKS. THIS BOOK HAS BEEN EDITED AND CLEANED UP NICELY AND HAS WONDERFUL ILLUSTRATIONS. GREAT EBOOK. WORTH BUYING.

I LOVE this story but I am unimpressed by this particular ebook version. The OCR has left all kinds of weird characters and spacing and the headers/footers from the pages have been left in to disrupt paragraphs. All this would be more forgivable if Amazon wasn't offering a free edition that has been cleaned up and looks great.
