Delano, Marfe Ferguson. (1999) National Geographic My First Pocket Guides Dogs & Wild Dogs. Washington, D.C.: National Geographic Society. This is a great guide for a child that has an interest in all types of dogs. It is short and concise but has a good deal of information on all the dogs. Very colorful pictures of each dog as well as information about their origins and what they look like now.
