Marek Fabritis is used to delivering blows, not receiving them. But when he gets tipped off by an anonymous email about his ex-girlfriend, the news leaves him ice cold-and it's not because Gracen Moore is getting married to a total jerk. It's the fact that Marek has a three-year-old daughter he never knew about. Now he's going back home, not to play knight in shining armor but to make damn sure that no man takes what's his. For the first time, there might be something more important than hockey.

Gracen Moore has always loved Marek. That's why she let him go, so he could pursue a career in the NHL. And that's why she never told him about Lilly. Only now does Gracen realize that she made an unforgivable mistake. But is that any reason for Marek to crash her wedding and make an epic scene? If the spark that still smolders between them is to be trusted, maybe. Still, Gracen's not getting her hopes up. Because she knows better than anyone that appearances aren't always what they seem . . .

Contains mature themes.

Not one of her better books. It felt like something was missing.....

I think that this was a good book but not as great as some others in the series. The problem that Gracen is trying to fix for her parents was a bit far fetched and the lack of communication in the family about it was also a stretch. an adult child living with her parents with a nursing job would be involved and included in this sort of thing in my opinion. Then the whole lack of communication and Petty fights between the two main characters drove me batty. I don't want to spoil the story but if he can't bring up her actions then she shouldn't be able to throw his lack of parenting experience at him. I got a review copy from Net Galley and willingly leave this review.

Marek is an a**hole! He stayed one for most of the book. Gracen was young when she made the mistake of not telling Marek she was having his child. I understood her reasoning. Even if she was wrong, I got it. Marek was a jerk when he broke up with her and a jerk when he found out about Lilly. However, I also understand why he is so upset. About the baby being a secret. I don’t forgive his reasoning for breaking her heart. In my opinion he is lucky she is at his house willing to give him a chance with her and their daughter. I did enjoy the story. It’s very well written and definitely kept my interest. Marek just isn’t my favorite Cold Fury player.

4 star Review Marek (Cold Fury Hockey # 11) by Sawyer Bennett   This is book 11 in one of my favourite series and this time it is all about Marek Fabritis and  Gracen Moore.  Marek is shocked and furious to find out that he has a daughter Lilly whose existence he knew nothing of and that Gracen is about to marry.  Returning home Marek is determined to get answers and creates chaos at Gracen’s wedding. He is also planning on getting his daughter as there is no way he will let another man raise her.  Gracen has always loved Marek. That’s why she never told him about Lilly, she knew he was destined for great things as a professional hockey player.  However when Marek storms her wedding she realises that she has made a terrible mistake. Not only that but the she is terrified to realise that the chemistry between them is still there.  I have to say Marek acted like a jerk, sure I understood his reactions but honestly I wasn’t a huge fan initially.  To me this was a more intense story line than the last few books. It was at times raw, gritty and rather emotional as Marek, Gracen and Lilly all had to learn to deal with the reality of the life which they found themselves facing. I did feel that there was perhaps too much focus on Gracen keeping Lilly from Marek and not enough of Marek being held accountable for his past behaviour. Both needed to confront the past and realise how their actions affected those around them. Relationships take a lot of hard work and it was good that the struggles were realistic that Ms. Bennett did not sugar coat it. I also love how Reed kept getting in Marek’s face over his treatment of Gracen. Not my favourite book of the series but it was well written and I loved catching up on the previous couples and seeing what is happening in their lives.

Marek is book eleven in the Carolina Cold Fury Hockey series and Ms. Bennett has saved the best for last. This last installment picks up right after Marek moves Gracen and their daughter Lilly home with him to North Carolina. Marek and Gracen’s story had me from the first page. This was a devour in one sitting, stay up to 3am, I’m going to be a zombie at work tomorrow book. Marek struggles with his anger towards Gracen through out most of the book. Gracen struggles with her guilt and that gets worse as Lilly and Marek bond. They may “hate” each other but there’s no denying their attraction to each other and that too is something they both struggle with. I really enjoyed this series and am sad to see it end but have hope that we’ll see the guys somewhere down the road.

What a great addition to the Cold Fury library. Marek and Gracen's story continues to deliver a touching, sexy, and addictive page turner just like the others in this series.

Love Sawyer Bennett and I loved Marek... Great story and well written (as always) by one of the best story tellers there is... Love the Cold Fury Series and have read every one... Marek has a daughter he never knew about... The girl he left behind, so to speak, when he went after his hockey career... But, after some teary and some funny pages all works out as it is supposed to... Really enjoy Ms. Bennett's books and have read many... Don't ever be deterred by the hockey theme because there is a great story "off the ice"...

Love the Cold Fury Hockey series by Sawyer Bennett! I have been looking forward to Marek since we got to know him in Reed's book. What I do have to say that is that while I like Marek I didnt fall in love with him like the other hockey men. That being said I did enjoy his and Gracen's story. Marek has just had his whole world turn upside down - the girl he dumped not only almost got married to another guy but she is a mother - to his daughter Lilly. Marek does the only thing he can and thats to force Gracen from New York back to North Carolina to get to know his daughter. Now if he can just get over his anger at Gracen then this horrible situation may get better, if they dont kill each other first. Gracen feels ashamed and guilt and anger all at the same time for different reasons. She knows that she screwed up by not telling Marek about Lilly but he made it clear he didnt want her anymore all those years ago. Now living in North Carolina with no job, no friends and her first love angry at her how can she turn this bad situation around. My biggest issue with Marek is Marek himself. I understand his anger and hurt towards Gracen but it takes a long time for him to get over it and in the meantime, he is not very nice. I wanted to see some redeeming qualities and they did come but slowly. Gracen had her own secrets that gave the story some mystery and twists that quite frankly I didn't see coming but overall both of their situations could have been cleared up much quicker. I did love them together once they go there. We also got to see Reed and Josie again and other members of Cold Fury (wow we have come a long way) which is always fantastic. All in all a solid book in the Cold Fury series.

SECOND CHANCE!!! Since I love reading stories about sexy hockey players, I was excited to read the eleventh book in The Cold Fury series. Sawyer Bennett is one of my favorite authors because she knows how to write an engaging story with characters that are easy to relate to. There is great character development in this emotional and satisfying second chance romance. I loved all the fun interactions between the characters and all the entertaining secondary characters. I was immediately drawn into Marek and Gracen’s world and I was able to sympathize with both of their points of view. Whenever they are together, they can’t keep their hands off each other but they are both dealing with hurt feelings and anger. They have to figure out if they can forget the past and have a future together. After all this time, they still care about each other, yet they are confused about all the mixed emotions the are feeling. They have hurt each other and need to somehow rectify their past mistakes. Marek and Gracen were young when they were first together. Now, four years later, they have both matured and changed and they have to decide what is important to them. They have to accept each other and forgive and forget. I liked Marek and Gracen and I was pulling for them to work things out and be together. Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book vIa Cocktails and Books and Netgalley. The opinions expressed are my own.

COLD FURY RULE!!!!! Sawyer Bennett has done it yet again!!! I became a total Sawyer Bennett fan when I was introduced to the Cold Fury series when I had the opportunity to read Zack the 3rd book in the series via NetGalley. I have read EACH AND EVERY that Ms. Bennett has written since. OH! MY! GOSH!!! MAREK!!! I freaking love him. My heart freaking broke for him when he found out about his daughter, she is a total sweetie in this book, and in my opinion sort of steals the heart as well. I fully understand why Gracen let Marek go. She wanted Marek to have his dream, but I still wanted to smack her. I loved watching Marek and Gracen fall back in love and start to remember why they loved each other in the first place. I loved reading about Marek learning how to be a “dad”. I just wanted to squeeze the stuffing out of all three of them. The first time Lilly…. Stop no spoilers. SIGH!!! Thank you, Sawyer Bennett for sharing your phenomenal gift of writing with your readers. You give us hours and hours of reading enjoyment every time you release a book. I was gifted with a copy of this phenomenal book for my reading enjoyment and I have to say, I could not put it down when I was reading it over Easter. I just forgot to write a review. Now, I am correcting that mistake. Kudos Ms. Bennett on a SPECTACULAR BOOK!!! Thank you for reading my review. COLD FURY RULE!!!!!

Anger, turmoil and the pull of a once in a lifetime love is what keeps Marek going in the next book in the Cold Fury Hockey series! The beginning felt a little stunted because we didn't get to experience the drama that had happened first hand and were trying to play catch up in snippets of memories. The story line was quick to grab out attention though, and watching Marek try to connect with this his little look-alike daughter was adorably sweet. The author did a great job of portraying emotions on both sides of their betrayals. I really enjoyed the overall story! When professional hockey player Marek Fabritis finds out that his childhood sweetheart was pregnant with his baby when he left and never told him, he's beyond angry! He's missed more than three years of his daughter Lilly's life. He can never get that time back, so how can he ever forgive Gracie? Gracen Moore can't believe Marek made such a huge scene at what was supposed to be her wedding and used scare tactics to drag her and Lilly home with him to North Carolina! Yes, she realizes she made a huge mistake, but he dumped her just so he could live a wild and free lifestyle in the NHL, so what was she supposed to think? Seeing how angry and hurt he is over missing out on so much has her crumbling under the guilt. She never stopped loving him, no matter how much he let her down ... and even though the attraction and desire is still right there between then, can Marek ever forgive her enough to want any type of relationship with her?

Sawyer Bennett’s latest installment in her Cold Fury Hockey series —Marek— delivers a heartwarming story about forgiveness and second chances. Marek Fabritis got everything he ever wanted. The fame and fortune an NHL career affords him along with a hoard of fawning fans. But when he decided to stop his ex-girlfriend’s wedding to a douche canoe and take both her and the three-year-old daughter he didn’t know he had, he needs to face the fact that his life has tilted on its axis and that his job is not his life and it might take a backseat to the sweet love of his little girl, but can he forgive her mother in order to start a new happy chapter in his life? When Gracen Moore decided to let Marek go so he could chase his NHL dream, she did so hiding the fact that she was pregnant with their daughter thinking it was for everyone’s benefit. After he prevented her from making a huge mistake she’s now faced with the fact that keeping Lilly a secret was not just epic it was inexcusable. But how many times can she ask for forgiveness and how long can she hide the fact that she never stopped loving him? Gracen and Marek are in uncharted territory. The spark, the memories, the shared emotions are still very much present but they must also find a way to face the past that broke them and the decisions that are currently threatening them. Not an easy task for either of them. Their story takes us through a gamut of feelings from frustrating to very sweet, tender and definitely sultry. Bennett’s skilled storytelling grips you from the start with a motivating plot, attractive characters and a wide range of emotions which make all her stories a wonderful reading experience. Marek is no different. It’s an enjoyable, sexy escape that explores family, friendship, forgiveness, love and second chances. Marek is book #11 of the Cold Fury Hockey series by Sawyer Bennett. It is a standalone, contemporary hockey romance. Told from both points of view with a hand ending.

4 Stars! You know, you would think that after ten books about hockey players finding romance the stories would stale or tropes would be recycled, but that is not the case for The Cold Fury series. Sawyer Bennett continues to come up with new and engaging stories. This time, we get Marek's story and it is a doozy. This book is more emotional than most of the others in the series and involves the cutest little book kiddo! Marek finds out he has a child he knew nothing about by his former high school sweetheart, Gracen. Their relationship did not end well and he left to play hockey. She never told him about their child. Fast-forward three years and now he has busted up her wedding and practically kidnapped Gracen and his daughter, Lily, and brought them to NC. Bennett does an amazing job developing the relationship between Gracen and Marek, allowing the reader to experience their frustrations and longing. But, even better was Lilly. That little girl stole everyone's hearts! She was the catalsyt that drove the entire book. The book is steamy, as we have come to expect from Sawyer Bennett, but it also has a ton of heart and soul. Another amazing addition to the Cold Fury Series!

Marek by Sawyer Bennett is part of the Cold Fury Hockey series. We met Marek Fabritis in the previous book, Reed, and learned about Gracen Moore, the girlfriend he left years before in order to pursue his hockey career unhindered and the daughter he never knew about, Lily. Threatening and dragging Gracen away from the altar before she got married, Marek his furious about missing out on the child he never knew he had, but also guilty from leaving Gracen behind. He is not the same person he was four years ago and neither is Gracen. There is a lot of strife and anger between them, but the connection they have runs deep. Neither pulls any punches but they have to move forward for the benefit of their child. I liked Marek better in this novel than in Reed and felt that the progression that the characters go through to work out their issues, a lot of steps forward followed by steps back, felt realistic and worked with these characters. The support structure that Reed and Josie, from Reed, represented added depth to the story and helped develop the characters. Ms. Bennett creates characters who you can really feel for with a cast that just adds to the story. Overall I enjoyed Marek by Sawyer Bennett and recommend this next Cold Fury Hockey book. Gracen and Marek are complex, dynamic and passionate characters who lost each other but need each other to be whole. A very good addition. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance review copy of this book I received for free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

I really like this series. I loved the struggles as Marek adjusts from being single to becoming the father of a little girl. I do wish there was a bit more hockey in the book. But overall a well written book. If this happens to be the end of the series, it stops on a brilliant note.

Marek's story started with a bang at the end of the previous book Reed. While technically I think this one works as a standalone, I think you will be better off if you've read Reed first because the bang really happens there, and then Marek picks right up where that one left off. And it was immediately gripping as Marek and Gracen adjusted to the ways their lives were suddenly reconnected, and the revelation of the long kept baby secret. Emotional and compelling - this wasn't exactly a fairytale romance, but it was a rather lovely romance nonetheless. I was afraid I would find Marek unlikeable, but I felt like the way he was written was very realistic and while he certainly has a temper and a whole lot of anger, it didn't get in the way of my connecting with him or his re-ignited feelings for Gracen. And there is literally nothing sexier than a man who is in love with being a dad, so even if there were issues elsewhere, Marek's relationship with Lilly would have sold me on him immediately. I also loved Gracen. I felt like she handled her role in their messed up situation with grace and dignity and a satisfying amount of humility. I also appreciated how she guarded her heart and that her fears were taken into account and handled respectfully as well. I identified with her and warmed to her easily. I loved the way she easily settled into a friendship with Josie, and how this story tied in so nicely with Reed. While I overall enjoyed the story, there were some awkward transitions that pulled me out of it and left me confused on occasion. I felt like the characters were as lovable and engaging as I have come to expect from Ms. Bennett's characters, but the pacing and the storytelling was sometimes just a little bit off for me. Not enough to ruin the story, by any means, but enough so that Marek was perhaps not my favorite Cold Fury story. In the end, it's emotional and sexy and easy to read. I loved the little family these characters made in the end (and good grief, but the ending was completely adorable). It's safe to say that, eleven books in, I'm still crazy about my Cold Fury men! ~ 3.5 Stars

Sad situation and stressful, youthful choices set the backdrop for this, the final story in this series. I warred with myself about this story as I really disliked Marek and his selfish ways for a lot of the story... however, I am sure this is actually something that happens a lot and probably why I struggled so much - it was a little too real and tugged me out of the 'romanticism' of the story. However it IS a good story and it pulled at my heartstrings a lot! Sweet ending and HEA (hopefully)

42600055 Jennifer Cowan's review May 22, 2018 · edit it was amazing Over three years ago, Marek leaves the love of his life to pursue his dreams of becoming a NHL player. When leaving, he indicated he didn't want to be "tied" down. Although it broke Gracen's heart, she understood and let him go. While Marek has seen success as a starter on The Cold Fury, when he receives an anonymous email saying Gracen is getting married and he may have a daughter he never knew about...Marek crashes the wedding. Marek takes Gracen and Lilly home with him, only to ignore them. He's stunned, hurt, and angry. Marek can't understand why Gracen would keep his daughter from him. It isn't until his best friend and teammate takes him aside, that he makes an effort to build a relationship with his daughter. Gracen tries to make amends with Marek, but he ignores her at every turn. It's not until Gracen threatens to leave, taking Lilly with her, that Marek starts to listen and see things from Gracen's point of view. I loved this story! It's messy, heartbreaking, selfless all rolled into a second chance love story. Sometimes we make decisions that we truly believe are for the best, only to find out we messed up. It takes courage to admit you're wrong, but even more to open yourself up to possible heartbreak again. I truly thought it was one of the best Cold Fury stories yet! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

I really enjoyed this addition to the Cold Fury Hockey series. I love a second chance romance especially when everyone involved thinks their doing what's best. Marek and Gracen are young sweethearts when Marek gets his break in the NHL. He really wants to focus on doing well and doesn't want the responsibility of a relationship. Since she's younger than him, he also wanted her to fulfull some of her dreams like finishing school and becoming a nurse but knew she wouldn't if she followed him around. So he dumps her. Gracen is pregnant but doesn't want to tell Marek because he broke up with her to enjoy the benefits of being in the NHL. She doesn't want him to feel obligated to her. After 3 years, Gracen is about to marry Owen when Marek finds out and comes to stop it. Marek and Gracen have a lot of unsettled business. Both were in love with each other and too young. But can they put their past behind them and find a path together? Can Marek get over the fact that Gracen kept his daughter from him for over 3 years? Can Gracen get over the fact that Marek picked his career over her? Don't forget their daughter Lily who is a fun piece to this whole puzzle. You can't help but route for them to overcome these obstacles, but can they? Another great read by Sawyer Bennett!

This is Book 11 in the "Cold Fury Hockey" Series. This time we read about Gracen and Marek. In the previous book Marek finds out that his ex girlfriend is getting married to someone who is a complete idiot. He stops the wedding and discovers that he has a 3 year old daughter named Lilly. Four years ago Marek left Gracen to pursue his hockey career. Now he brings her to her place to know his daughter. The resentment between them is huge and things seem to get worse by the day. The book is entertaining. The characters are very well done and the chemistry between them is just amazing!!! A really enjoyable read, full of tender moments, some very emotional and others super hot! Great book!

I'm sitting here, a day after I finished reading this book, wondering whether I should hate or love Marek and Gracen. Both of them did things in the past that make me hate them, but I understand why they did them. I'm not saying that makes it ok. I'm just saying I get it. Obviously this is a HEA, but I really enjoyed alot of the real life moments, and not all were happy. I respect Gracen for realizing that forgiveness doesn't mean forgetfulness and that even with the forgiveness you can't always forget it. I think this is one of the best books I have read about having to work at a relationship and overcoming obstacles, pain and past hurts.

"Marek" I mutter under my breath, needs a cease and desist. I decided to give myself a 24 hour cooling off period after reading this one because I felt I needed it. I wanted to face palm Marek- hard several times in this story...okay multiple times. He's a class A jackass with a nasty attitude toward the woman he walked away from because he wanted his freedom and along with his hockey career. Gracen didn't know she was pregnant when he dumped her and she raised her daughter on her own until Marek found out she was about to be married and he rushed off to stop the wedding. There he beholds his daughter for the first time. Dragging Gracen and Lilly back to North Carolina and making their lives miserable. Honestly he's such a prick and hats off to Reed for telling him so. Even at that, he still can't deal. He doesn't know how to be a father, can't get his head around it and damn if Lilly who is the cutest thing ever doesn't wrap him around his finger. What Marek does do is stop Gracie from making the mistake of a lifetime, marrying someone who is blackmailing her into marriage. You have to read the book to get the dish on that plot line. What really threw me about this book was Marek's selfishness. It knew no bounds. Even when he was nice, I was holding my breath for him to do a 180 which he could manage in a millisecond. I didn't trust him. I don't blame Gracen for not trusting him either nor for her being careful with Lilly. Sawyer Bennett writes a damn good story and this is no exception. Frustrated as I was with him, she makes you invest in these characters. I loved seeing Reed and Josie again. Marek and Gracen are oil and water. Will they never settle their differences and stop their crap slinging at each other? Is there honestly any hope for these two? Seriously? Great read and try not to toss your kindle. **arc from NetGalley and Loveswept for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own**

The latest focus of the Carolina Cold Fury team is Marek Fabritis, who we saw was on a mercy mission at the end of Reed. Marek receives word that his ex, Gracen Moore, is due to marry, so he makes the trip to save her from her mistake only to find he has a 3 year old daughter, Lilly, he was totally unaware of. Making a snap decision, he brings them both back home without really thinking any further. What ensues is a battle for their normal, and maybe a possibility of a future. I’ve had my favourites within this series, and I’m sad to say that this wasn’t one of them. My issue isn’t the quality of the writing, but the character appeal and regurgitation of our dear Marek’s thoughts, circling round for eternity. The intention was to come across as an a-hole, and then redeem himself, but he didn’t quite manage it for me. Complimentary copy received from the author in exchange for an honest review.

COLD FURY Book 11! These books, I have loved every one of them. Reading each one you get a little more of the story of this hockey team and the men they are off the ice. This one is a welcome addition. Marek Fabritis.... really enjoys being single, and spends a lot of his time on the road with his team. Suddenly his life is turned upside down when he finds out his ex-girlfriend is about to marry someone else... but what we finds out about her secret when he heads back to stop the wedding, his world is not what he thought it was..... Lilly, a three year old little girls who happens to be his daughter. His ex-girlfriend, Gracen Moore kept her a secret, and he's hurt. He is not ready to be a dad, but wants to get to know Lilly. He has a baby, no a toddler he barely knows, and so much time to make up for.... Gracen Moore has loved Marek since she wasps baby, well fifteen..... He was her boyfriend and best friend and then he broke her heart when he dumped her and left for the NHL four years ago. Once he was drafted into the NHL, he never looked back. the message he sent her was that his career was more important than a relationship. When she found out she was pregnant, to protect herself and her baby from possible rejection she never told Marek about the pregnancy or Lilly. She raised her alone and finished college, got her degree in nursing, and was about to get marry when Marek crashes her wedding & goes all alpha male on her and disrupts her life yet once again.... seems to be a pattern... Will they be able to find love again through all the hurt?
