McKay-Taggart operative Riley Blade has no intention of returning to Los Angeles after his brief stint as a consultant on mega-star Lyle Tarpin's latest action flick. Not even for Natasha Black, Tarpin's sexy personal assistant who'd gotten under his skin. Why would he, when Tasha made it absolutely clear that--attraction or not--she wasn't interested in a fling, much less a relationship.

But when Riley learns that someone is stalking her, he races to her side. Determined to not only protect her, but to convince her that--no matter what has hurt her in the past--he's not only going to fight for her, he's going to win her heart. Forever.

Very rushed. I'm left with the feeling of "but I thought it was going to be so great" and it really, really isn't. If you're not going to be invested in the novella/short story, whatever you're writing, just don't do it. Please. **SPOILER ALERT** She had a cut to her leg, so severe she lost her strength to fightand ability to stand. She struggled to stay conscious. The world slowed down, time itself slowed, her vision grayed and then went black. 2 hrs. later, home from the hospital. 12, count them, 12. 12 whole stitches. But drugged out on pain medication. Really? You couldn't have made it the least bit plausible? 2 hrs? To get through a hospital E.R.? Not to mention, the rest of what's wrong with that scene. Very, very disappointed. You know what this story really accomplished? I have absolutely no desire to buy any other books from this writer. Lexi Blake, if you're going to let people in your world. First, make sure they are committed to be there, not half-a $$ed doing it. Second, before you let it be published, read it, critique it and have the nerve to say "NO! This isn't being published in my world until it's fixed." From start to finish, it basically needs a complete rewrite.

4.5 Star Review of Justify Me by J Kenner   This is part of the current Lexi Blake Crossover Collection and written by an an author I am familiar with J Kenner. Although I have read numerous books from J Kenner, I am yet to read her Stark series so I was a tad anxious that I would not be able to follow the characters who were unfamiliar to me. I needn’t have worried as I had no issues. Justify Me is a quick second chance at love story, with elements of light BDSM and features Riley Blade (M & M) and PA Natasha Black (Stark). I loved the glimpse into the world of Stark with the chemistry between Riley and Natasha intense and at times overwhelming. There was suspense, drama and intrigue and the story was well written.

4.5 Stars for Justify Me which is part of the Masters & Mercenaries Crossover Series, I’m in the minority because I haven’t read the M& M books but I have read every Stark International book and I loved Justify Me, so much so I really need to look at the other books in this crossover series. This may be a quick read but that takes nothing away from the story, it was jam packed and I was hooked from the first page. We first met Riley and Natasha in Wicked Dirty and I’m so glad they got their own story, the chemistry this couple share is sizzling hot and if you love second chance love with some BDSM mixed in this is the book for you. Great read looking forward to reading more in this series.

I have loved everything I have read by J. Kenner. This story was good, but definitely felt rushed at the end. However, I feel that way with most novellas in general just because they are short! I liked this one, just didn't love it. Still recommend for a quick read!

Awesome book

I enjoyed the story of Riley and Tasha. They have known each other for a long time, but every time he asked her to go out she turns him down. When he has a 3rd chance he won’t pass it up. Now in on to the 4th book in this crossover.

I completely agree with the rushed review .on my nook the story started on page 25 and ended in page 113. I have read all of Lexi Blake's books in this series and love them.she has wonderful characters and i was excited to see where the other authors would take them.but this was just such a let down .I don't think this cross over was a good idea.

This was simply sinfully good. J. Kenner is one of my favorite authors and lately I've been really obsessed with Lexi Blake's writing. So getting a story that combines the two together is like a dream come true. When I first read Lyle and Sugar's story, I was definitely intrigued by the history between Riley and Natasha. So my expectations were pretty high to begin with. And let just say that the book was everything I hoped it would be, and so much more. For me, this was a beautiful romantic story of discovering oneself again. A story of healing and finding love again. Natasha and Riley's story is marked by an awful tragedy that has scarred them so deep that years later, it still rules their lives. Until an unknown danger threatens the safe and tidy world they build for themselves. I am not going to reveal anything more but in my opinion, this is a must read. Especially if you are a J. Kenner or Lexi Blake fan :)

I love J Kenner's Stark World/International, and I really enjoy Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries series. You don't have to have read books in either series to enjoy this quick read. As a novella, the story must be fast paced. You have to trust the back story details the author provides on the previous meeting between our Hero, Riley, and heroine, Natasha, in order to jump into the present day action. Since the story is told from a dual POV, each character can provide insights into their thoughts/feelings when they first met, and the conflicted issues that face them in this story today. Typical of crossover novellas, you don't get a lot of exposure to the central characters from the authors' primary novels, e.g. Ian Taggart or Damian Stark, but the casual mention has fans, like me, smiling when they are named. Would have enjoyed it more if it were longer, but I hope to see Riley and Natasha again in another Stark International novel or novella.

I wondered how these cross overs would work but having read J.Kenner and Lexi Blake books before I recognised both storylines and fell in to the story easily.   Natasha is Lyle's PA but has history with Riley blade. Riley has been avoiding LA and Natasha ever since a fateful night several years ago which broke both of them. But Tasha needs help and Riley needs to help her.   An excellent novella. It didn’t seemed rushed or short lived.

When McKay-Taggart operative Riley Blade finishes his latest job he can't wait to get out of LA. And nothing would make him go back not even the sexy assistant of Lyle, Natasha Black she shot him down and made it clear nothing would ever happen between them. But when Riley gets word someone is stalking the feisty assistant he finds himself heading back to LA to protect her, and he will stop at nothing to keep her safe, even when Natasha's hurt from the past keeps pushing him away? Will Riley win over Natasha?

SMOKING HOT! Julie Kenner WINS AGAIN! I felt the heat from my head to my toes and everywhere in between. When Riley Blade, the operative from the McKay-Taggart Security team is contacted by Lyle Tarpin because Natasha Black the gorgeous love of his life is needing protection, he just can't walk away. No matter how much he knows its not the right thing to do..... Riley worked with her dad, was there when thngs turned bad and was always reminded of the past when she saw him. Determined to fine her stalker they are both but to the test....desire, BDSM, sex, love, lust, heat..... Can they survive this game of smoke and mirrors of feelings or will their chemistry combust before their own eyes. A true page turner....... A sizzling story of two people who have history but chemistry that in Dynamite..... loved this one.

A wonderful melding of two worlds Justify Me is a great addition to the crossover worlds of Stark International (J Kenner) and Masters and Mercenaries (Lexi Blake). Ms. Kenner brings us Riley Blade and Natasha Black’s romance. A novella-length story that is smart, sexy and a bit of suspense/thriller thrown in. Odd things are happening to Natasha. Things escalate to a menacing level when she learns a stalker is threatening her life. Riley is determined to protect the only woman who’s ever gotten under his skin. This time around he’s making his claim before harm comes to her. Great story. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

4.5 stars I love these two series on their own but combined….WOW! This is Riley and Natasha’s story and a chance for them to reconnect. Natasha is Lyle’s assistant and lately she has been receiving some threatening letters. Lyle, looking to do all he can to protect her, reaches out to get a referral in order to find a bodyguard for Natasha while he is out of town. Riley works for McKay-Taggart Security Services and luckily, he has not left Los Angeles yet so he shows up at Natasha and Lyle’s doorstep to take the case. Lyle fills Riley in on Natasha’s stalker. Natasha takes one look at Riley and old feelings start to come back and she is the one he could never forget. Will he be able to keep her safe? Can they make things work out this time between them? This is one enjoyable, sexy, and sweet read from start to finish. Get your copy now! I volunteered to read an arc of this book.

In this world of crossover series brought by Lexi Blake's McKay-Taggart she brought authors like Corinne Micheals, Carly Phillips, Susan Stroker, Larissa Ione, and the amazing Julie Kenner. In Justify Me, Julie has collide the Stark world with Lexi's world with Riley Blade and Natasha. If you read Wicked Dirty by Julie you might remember Riley and Natasha from a intense wondering moment of if they were? or will they be in a relationship? I was dreaming Julie would write their story and with all good dream it came true. This story has suspense, curiosity, action, and heat. You will fall for these characters and fall more in love with the Stark World that Julie has brought to life.

Oh man do I have a love/hate relationship with novellas!! This one for example, I absolutely loved the storyline, the characters, the mystery and hated that I finished so soon! Seriously though, the love story that Riley and Natasha have is years in the making and it is easy to feel the love, lust, nervousness and longing pouring off the pages. Then add in the fact that someone is stalking Natasha and Riley will do anything to protect her and you are left with a story that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat to see what happens next. You will be hooked from page one and do not want to miss this book!

Justify Me is a quick, hot, sexy read! Riley takes on the role of bodyguard of personal assistant, Natasha, when he finds out she has a stalker. These two have a shared past, sizzling chemistry, and an undeniable attraction. Great characters, action, and suspense makes this a great read!

With all the hype about Lexi's crossover series, I have had my nose in deep with these books. This is my 4th book I have read in the series and WOW!!!! I love them all. Some are short and sweet like this one, and some are long full length books. I have not been on top on Lexi's M&M series, but this will be a great starter for readers. Then you can go back and start the series or finish where you have left off in my case. Now let's talk about Justify Me. As a HUGE J. Kenner fan, I love all characters that come out of the Stark International Trilogy World. Riley is my man in all the books I have read so far! He is ready to cut ties until his Tasha is in danger. His protective instincts make him stay. Tasha has already let Riley in her heart and she can not seem to get him out. When he is with her the sparks fly and OMG! Behind closed doors will have your temperature rising and pulse speeding into high gear. The drama unfold pretty quickly in this 12 chapter Novella. I kept giving guesses who was the stalker and very satisfied J. Kenner had me guessing until the end. I loved Riley and Tasha. What another great story to love

Justify Me by J. Kenner is part of the Masters & Mercenaries Crossover Collection. Riley Blade hates Los Angeles. It has memories and connections that he would rather forget. High on that list is Natasha Black, movie star Lyle Tarpin's assistant. When he is enticed into doing a quick job in LA for McKay-Taggart during a flight layover he is ready to be out and done and off on vacation, but when he is asked for a recommendation for personal security to protect Natasha, he knows no one will do as good a job as Riley himself. As they dig deeper into who is stalking Tasha the connection between Tasha and Riley heats up quickly. Their shared history, once keeping them apart, brings them closer together. Justify Me by J. Kenner is a fast and fun story. The fire between them is only tempered by the danger of Tasha's stalker. As Riley brings out more of Tasha's hidden wants and desires their passion grows exponentially. Overall I recommend Justify Me. It was a quick read, but one that had it all. Riley and Tasha just clicked and I enjoyed every minute of them. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book I received for free from the publisher in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)

So yummy! Justify Me takes you on a sexy adventure with Natasha and Riley. The character development and well placed humor give this quick read all the feels. A complete standalone with action and intensity that will have you feeling like a voyeur. I highly recommend this book.

Riley is a bodyguard for McKay-Taggart who has been in LA helping with the security for Lyle Tarpin’s latest film. The assignment is now over and he can’t get out of LA quick enough until he finds out that Natasha, his sexy assistant, is being stalked. Due to their past there is no way he is leaving town now and will be looking after her security personally. Tasha and Riley have a past which is centered around the most painful day of her life and although it is not Riley’s fault it is hard to remember that day. As they go undercover at a BDSM club all the old feelings come to the surface and they are unable to deny their feelings for each other but will they be able to find out who the stalker is before it is too late? For a novella the characters are developed, their chemistry is hot and it has all the feels.

I have been waiting for the story of Riley and Tasha story. They both intrigued me with they're hate for each other. But I was fooled, it isn't hate, its complete LOVE they both feel for each other. I love when books crossover. This is a short, HOT and Steamy read! Straight to the point with a great story! I love J Kenner stories and her total HOTNESS in characters. weather its a full blown novel or a short and sweat story, She always blows me away!

I devored this novella cover to cover. This was a fairly short story, but it still had a good plot and well -rounded characters. The story is a crossover between the world of Lexi Blake’s “Master and Mercenaries” and J. Kenner’s “Stark World”. There were quite a few things going on and by the end, despite the short format, J. Kenner had tied up all loose ends. Riley and Natasha have known each other a long time. Natasha has firmly shut down Riley’s advances and they have been going their own separate ways. But a threat to Natasha brings them back into each other’s lives. They have great chemistry. It was not forced or fake, it really felt genuine. Yet, I never really understood why Natasha pushed Riley away. That being said, it was a great novella, very well written, with some steamy scenes, sweet romance and heart-stopping suspense.
