Piper Mackenzie first sees him shirtless, standing in front of the military plane she was about to board, with one rather large wrench in his hand. The fact that he has the plane—the one that she's about to be flying on for hours—in pieces only minutes before she's set to take off on it doesn't faze her. At least not until a flippant joke about dying in mid-air leaves his lips.

The second time she sees him, he's helping her from the wreckage of her car. The wreckage that he helped cause.

The third, he's laying across from her in the same bed, and there's no denying what happened the night before.

The fourth, well that time would be the first of many. Being Mrs. Jonah Crew has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?

Jonah Crew saw her for the first time as she stared at him in awe. It was snowing, the temp was in the negative degrees, and he couldn't think about anything but her and the look of horror on her face when he tells a badly-timed joke.

The second time he sees her, his heart skips a beat, but not for the reason that one might think. Mainly, it's due in part to the fact that his truck smashed into her car so hard that his chest hits the steering wheel and his heart decides to stop working right.

The third time, he's fairly positive that he's died and gone to heaven. At least, that's what waking up next to a beautiful woman like her signifies, right?

The fourth? Well, he's not quite sure how he got there, but he's already said 'I do' so what's a guy to do?

It Wasn't Me by Lani Lynn Vale is the second book in her KPD Motorcycle Patrol series. Told in dual POV between Piper Mackenzie and Jonah Crew. Quirky, sexy, with instant chemistry and another killer storyline. Lani Lynn Vale has fast become a must read author for me. Piper and Jonah first meet on a military flight back to the US from Germany. Between her nervous flying and his instant attraction they form a fast bond over clasped hands and a shared final destination. Add in a car show, a trip to Vegas and some drunken I Do's and the story just takes flight from there. Mysterious car accidents, extended family, and a rogue Roomba and I was hooked. Loved this! Enjoy!

Oh my hotness! Jonah totally has taken over as being my favorite Lani Lynn Vale Alpha hero! Whew, he knows what he wants and he doesn't apologize for it at all. Piper, love her! She was a go with the flow type of gal. I also loved getting a glimpse of a ton of our favorite characters and as always it left me wanting more from this group of "kids". Great glimpses of what may come! If you want a fun read, with a lot of humor, a little bit of suspense, and a ton of heat, I totally recommend this book!

4 1/2 STARS! Addictive from start to finish! With the next book in her KPD Motorcycle Patrol series, Lani Lynn Vale once again wraps an unlikely pair around our hearts. The relationship is fast paced, but they're not only adorable together, but sexy as all get out. Lots of heat, sass and humor steals the show and the hint of intrigue seals it all up into a great read! Piper Mackenzie knows she's not a good flyer, so the fact that she's going it without meds on her way back home from her military stint in Germany is awfully brave of her. Or stupid, depending on how you look at it. Factoring in the shirtless hunk working on the plane making a poorly timed joke is just icing on the cake to further her freak out. Texas cop Jonah Crew considers it a big coincidence when he finds out the woman he freaked out, who's hand is now squeezing his to the point of cutting off feeling, is heading home to Kilgore as well. Fate seems to be shining down on them to keep throwing them together as the days pass and eventually their enjoyment of each other reaches an all time high ... a drunken wedding in Vegas high!

Once again, this author has managed to produce a book that is unlike anything else I've read! She managed to include a insta-love story (which I adore!) as well as motorcycles, police officers, a HEA, and a mystery spanning generations! This book was fun, plus we got updates on some of our favorite characters from previous books, and there were surprises around every corner! I just can't ask for more in a book! Piper is the daughter of Sam and Cheyenne Mackenzie (Boomtown). She grew up surrounded by love, and support. She went into the Army, and now she is on the way home. Jonah's story isn't a happy one. He had a neglectful childhood, and then lost the only career he'd ever loved. Needless to say, he's a bit bitter. But on glance of Piper is all it takes to turn his head (and his life!) around. Crazy circumstances, lead to a wedding that is a bit reminiscent of another (Trance & Viddie!). There was so much going on in this book, I can't even begin to explain how awesome it was! I loved the instant connection between Piper and Jonah. I loved seeing how perfect they were for each other. I enjoyed the update on previous characters, and the quirky mystery that cropped up in their story was just plain fun! This book was everything that we love about a LLV story, and so much more!

This story was awesome all the way through! Jonah was such a grouch at first but after meeting a crazy girl scared of flying he fell in love and so did she. I liked also getting a glimpse at previous characters of other books and see what was happening with them. The characters all are good people and I really enjoy these books! Keep them coming Lani Lynn Vale!!
