She ordered an assassination. She just didn't know it.
I thought I was out of the life, until I saw her. Daisy, with her peaches and cream skin, and a dark shadow lurking over her shoulders.

That man was going to hurt her.

A thousand miles from the big city and my hitman past, yet I can't resist pulling the trigger to keep her safe. My reward is her sweet, pure body riding me into the sunset. She stirs up a longing in me that I can't resist.

But instead of spending our days screwing and enjoying the simple life, my dangerous past comes back to haunt me. To haunt us.

I've found something to live for, after all these years.

The mafia is going to learn just how hard I'll fight for her.

I Hired a Hitman by Alexis Abbott is another great read from this author. She is the queen of the mafia romance stories. This is Alexei and Daisy’s story and it is full of hot chemistry, suspense and danger. I loved this book and highly recommend it.

Suspenseful and romantic I can always count on Alexis Abbott to deliver a suspenseful, action-filled story with steamy passion and love with her protectively strong mafia men. I loved this story about Daisy Jensen and Alexei Nikolaev. Alexei thinks he’s found a safe haven in a small town in the Midwest, away from the big city and his past as an enforcer for the Bratva. He’s done with that life of violence and seeks only to live a simple life as a gentleman farmer. But when he meets Daisy, distraught and shaky, at the local bar, he knows all too well the kind of danger she is in. The town’s good ole boy, Dean Ashcroft, has bullied and stalked her for the last time if Alexei has his way. His protective instincts tell him Daisy is in harm’s way if the threat doesn’t go away. I Hired A Hitman is fast-paced, suspenseful and unputdownable. Alexei and Daisy are really great together, but things get a bit crazy when Alexei’s past catches up with him. Great story with supporting cast of small-town characters, steamy goodness, and swoon-worthy ending. Great job, Ms. Abbott. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Once again the author has brought us a wonderful story. I really liked Alexei. He was a former Russian hitman but he had morals. He also had a good heart. I found it interesting that a man who had done so many bad things to come out with a heart that was not hard as stone. I found Daisy shy and very sweet. She was an innocent country girl. She was one that also had more trouble then she could handle. I felt really sorry for her. She was so alone. Her father was dead and it seemed she had no other family around. I guess the towns folks were her family but it was sad she felt she could not turn to them. Here she was finding herself in danger and no one to turn to. I did wonder what would of happen if she would of told someone of what she was going through. Time and time again I saw in this story that this small town truly cared for her. So I did have to wonder if they would of turned a blind eye or if they would of stepped in. I guess it was a good thing that Alexei took notice. I love the passion that was between these two. Alexei was helping Daisy come out of her shell. He was helping her shed some of her innocence and become a very strong woman. I love how Daisy was able to look pass all of Alexei flaws and see the man he truly was. It was a great story and glad I got a chance to read the book.

Alexei and Daisy are from different worlds - the mafia man and the simple-life country girl. I loved the sweetness mixed in with the suspenseful plot. The chemistry between Daisy was steamy hot, although I didn't feel the development of the love between them as strongly as I expected to. But finding out just who was after Daisy was entertaining, and this was a lively read.

Alexei has escaped from his life as a hitman and is enjoying his sedate life as farmer and he knows that in order to keep it that way he needs to keep a low profile and stay out of trouble. Daisy works at the feed store and is being harassed by a fellow staff member Dean who refuses to accept her refusals to date him. From the moment that Alexei and Daisy see each other their attraction is immediate, but Alexei has no intention of acting on it until he needs to protect Daisy. When the secrets of his past resurface how will Daisy react and will he be able to keep her safe This author has once again written an adventure full of suspense, twists and red hot chemistry. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Hot mafia read. Love how Alexei protects Daisy. There story is hot with some twist and turns. Favorite quote: Daisy "I'm a dandelion under the shade of a mighty oak, but I'd be happy to let him steal my sunshine if that's what he wants."

****I voluntarily received an Advance Review Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review**** Alexei Nikolaev left New York City to escape the mafia organization as an enforcer and live a quiet lifestyle. He moved to the small town of Broken Pine, Nebraska where he live on a farm. Daisy Jenson lived in Broken Pine, Nebraska all of her life and worked at the Farm ‘n’ Feed with a self-absorbing, lunatic Dean Ashcroft with unorthodox ways of pursing a woman. The plot was interesting and different from the author previous theme but well written. Lily was cute and changed the emotionally rollercoaster effects that Daisy was feeling toward Alexei. I would love to read more of Bradley history and I’m looking to reading ambitious book soon.

Alexei left his life as a hitman and the mafia behind him in New York, choosing to live a farm in the Midwest. He spots Daisy and the feed store when a guy his bothering her and sparks fly. When he knows she is in danger and someone out there may want to hurt her he will do whatever he must to keep her safe. Will she still want him when she knows the truth and can he keep her safe from his old life? This is a steamy fast-paced read with plenty of drama and suspense. I liked the characters and the story just wish is was longer.

A retired hitman who comes to the rescue of a woman who totally captivated him. Their chemistry is hot, their budding romance is just great to read. And of course, there’s some danger involved. A great read!

Alexei resides in a sleepy town in the Midwest. He's come a long way since his upbringing in New York, which led his life in the wrong direction. Being a hitman was one thing, leaving that life, well it's just not done unless you leave in a body bag. Alexei is happy living a quiet, unassuming life as a farmer and doesn't want it any other way. Alexei meets Daisy at the feed store and is instantly drawn in by her beauty, but that's as far as it goes. Alexei comes with too much baggage and has resigned himself to a life better spent alone. Daisy has been dealing with a co-worker, Dean, who has major infatuation problem. This co-worker is harassing and stalking her. Definitely not the way to win her heart. Not that she would ever consider it. This guy is arrogant and sees Daisy as a possession. Daisy wants nothing to do with Dean, but he is persistent and refuses to take no for an answer. Up until now Alexei has stayed away but when Daisy is put in his path once again, all bets are off. He vows to protect her. Just when they think the danger is gone, Alexei's past comes back to haunt him. If the hitman needs to come out of retirement, so be it. OMG...ALEXIS' HITMEN*faints* WOW ! FAST PACED STORY WITH WELL WRITTEN, COMPLEX CHARACTERS THAT HAD ME COMPLETELY INVESTED FROM THE START ! ADDICTIVE, INTENSE, SOUL SHATTERING SEX ! ! ! A DEFINITE ONE-CLICK ! ! !

I will start off by saying that Alexis Abbott has given us another page turner. I read this book in one sitting because I wanted to know what happened. Alexei and Daisy are totally different and I think that’s what really worked for them. Alexis described Daisy just the way I imagine any small town girl to be. Everyone knows everyone and looks out for each other. Of course, every town has at least one jerk and Dean happens to be the jerk of Broken Pine. Alexei has retired from being a hitman and just wants to live a simplier life now. When he sees Dean bullying Daisy, he knows he will protect her. How will Daisy react to learning the truth about Alexei’s past profession. No spoilers, so grab your copy and see if you don’t fall in love with Alexei.
