The most brazen terrorist attack in history. A country bent on revenge. A love affair cut short. A heart that never truly heals.
I knew on the day of the attack that our lives were changed forever. What I didn’t know then was that I’d never see John again after he deployed. One day he was living with me, sleeping next to me, making plans with me. The next day he was gone.
That was five years ago. The world has moved on from that awful day, but I’m stuck in my own personal hell, waiting for a man who may be dead for all I know. At my sister’s wedding, I meet Eric, the brother of the groom, and my heart comes alive once again.
The world is riveted by the capture of the terrorist mastermind, brought down by U.S. Special Forces in a daring raid. Now I am trapped between hoping I’ll hear from John and fearing what’ll become of my new life with Eric if I do.
From a New York Times bestselling author, Five Years Gone is an epic story of love, honor, duty, unbearable choices and impossible dilemmas.

If you've never read a book by Marie Force this is a fantastic book to start with. I loved it so much I read it in one day. The story was interesting from the first page to the very last page. This was a book of Lost Love, New Beginnings, and all of the complications that were faced in between. The families involved in the story we're so interesting and I hope that Miss Force follows up with more books on these family members.

Marie Force has outdone herself. Five Years Gone is the best book of the year. It hits you in the heart and never lets go. You ache for the characters and what they are going through and you hope for thier futures as they go their separate ways. I am looking foward to the next book and I know the Hero will get his happy ever after which will be different than what he ever thought it would be.

Wow! What a powerful book! Marie Force has created characters that draw you in, make you really care what happens to each and every one of them. Writing from the different viewpoints added so much depth to the characters, you could really experience their emotions throughout the whole book. Thankfully the sequel is due to be released in a couple of weeks, so we don't have to wait much longer to continue the story. This is one of the best books I've ever read. Highly recommend!

WOW, JUST WOW!!!! We (Marie's Can Girls) waited impatiently for this book (as we all do for her next book) and once again, Marie knocks it out of the park. This story grabbed me from page 1 and keep me there. You can feel the love and heartbreak for these characters and you feel like you are going through the same emotions. A must read.

however, unnecessary foul language and explicit scenes caused me not to finish the book. Good writing does not need compromises.

I have not finished reading this book. I'm hooked. I can't wait to find out what happens to John and Ava. Edge of seat. Keeps you wondering what happens next.

A Gripping Story by a Master Story Teller...... Could not stop reading this except to order the sequel ... A gripping tale of life as one of Americas elite service men, a US Navy Seal... Called away from home on a five year journey to capture an international terrorist... Riveting in the telling, this is a story you should not miss.. No one knows where he is... A heartbreaking story of the one left behind... One of the best books I have read in a very long time...
