After finding a corpse hidden in a snowman, Stormy is determined to find the culprit - with the help of a mischievous feline named Jeffrey. With nonstop twists and turns, this clever tale is a must-read!

First in series!

When the daughter of a cop finds a body next door, she's the only one who can solve the strange mystery.

Stormy Day has moved back home, and it's not for the local coffee or nightlife, both of which are lacking in Misty Falls, Oregon. She's there to help her father finally retire from being a cop, and slow the heck down after his hip replacement. Plus she needs to give her brain a break from the high-stakes world of venture capital.

But when she makes a shocking discovery next door, Stormy's clever brain kicks into overdrive. This murder is too difficult for the local boys in blue to figure out. The new captain of the police department tells her to mind her own business, but he doesn't take his own advice. He's always breathing down her neck like a jealous ex-boyfriend (which he is).

What's there to be jealous of? Stormy's not even dating anyone. She's certainly not going to date the ruggedly handsome, bearded lawyer who's renting half her house. No way. Every time she sees Mr. Logan Sanderson, the town's newest resident, he's insulting her one way or another. The man should show his landlady a little more respect! He's the worst. Sort of. It would be easier to hate him if he weren't so cute underneath that bushy beard.

Now there's a murder to solve, and since the legendary Finnegan Day is recovering from surgery, it's up to his determined daughter Stormy to save the town from a twisted killer. If she fails to solve this twisted puzzle in time, someone close to her will pay a terrible cost.

160 pages, free. First in a series. A clean, cozy mystery. The second book costs $3.99. The third has not been published yet. The efiting is okay except the s, es, er, ed and ing have been left off a lot of words. The murder is nondescriptive. Some extremely mild violence. Some flirting. A few events are rather silly, such as renting out half her duplex and then not wanting to stay there because she does not want her tenate to know who she is. This is fun, humorous, entertaining read. Ages 16 and up. AD

This cozy mystery will leave you with a smile.  Stormy Day is back in town.  She’s left her ex fiancé and her high powered job to start over where she grew up.  When she stumbles upon a corpse buried in a snowman things get interesting real fast.  As the daughter of a cop Stormy can’t help but be interested in the investigation.  This is an action packed fun mystery that will keep you guessing, laughing and turning the page. Sign me up for the next one!

This is an okay mystery. It surely won't tax your brain much, and it won't violate many people's moral sensibilities relating to language, sex, gore, violence, or whatever. It is described as having "lots of turns and twists," which seemed to me more like crazed daydreams (on the part of the main character) with no grounding in reality than actual plot twists. In any "normal" plot a true twist is to have someone genuinely seem guilty or innocent and then have events occur to reverse that. In this book the so-called twists consist of countless times when the main character's thoughts go off a cliff and cause her to have insane suspicions about someone who in no way appears to be The Villain.

This is a pleasant, cozy mystery with a bit of humor and a quirky set of characters. It is an easy read but has a few editing problems. I enjoyed this and will read the sequels.

I burst out laughing so often while reading the book, that I now want to move to Miaty Falls just to hang with Jeffrey...and the wicked clever Stormy of course. Great, great amusing story that gets better and beter by the page.

Story just didn't do it for me. Stormy seems stuck in a high school mentality. The secondary characters were uninteresting. Won't be buying any more books in this series.

150 pages on my nook. First in a series. Some details were a little out there but it was a light and entertaining read. Slow at first but picked up about 40 pages in.

Interesting story, well written. Funny. No sex, no profanity, vulgarity in only two places (I don't need to read about people throwing up, etc.). Good writing. Grammar needs to be improved a bit. "ly" omitted in one word; adjectives used instead of pronouns. Good punctuation. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was just what I needed on an "under-the-weather" day even though it wasn't a stormy day. (:
