Even Jeffrey, the mischievous Russian Blue cat, seems puzzled by the Death of the Crafty Knitter. As Stormy races to find the killer, the danger escalates, bringing the amateur sleuth and the cold-blooded killer face-to-face for a startling climax.

Stormy Day and friends are back and yes there has been a murder. While this book isn’t as much laugh out loud fun as the first book, DEATH OF A DAPPER SNOWMAN, it is perhaps a better mystery and it is a lot of fun. The author develops the characters and their relationships to each other a bit better in this book and adds a couple of new ones. I enjoyed this book as much as the first but for different reasons. If you like cozy mysteries give Stormy Day a try.

This book has 183 pages, is the second in a series and cost $3.99, plus tax. The editing was better than the first book. This is a very clean, cozy, murder, mystery. It is devoid of sex, profanity and lurid, gory details. As in the first book, there is a lot of flirting going on. I liked the first book better. It has a better flow and quite frankly, the characters seemed more intelligent. My main complaints about this book are how the heroine and her father talk about not contaminating crime scenes, yet that is all they do, and the father tells his unarmed daughter to look for a killer and secure the murder site, instead of getting the heck out of dodge. The heroine also likes to work against the police, hiding facts and people, instead of co-operating with them. The other is how everyone has terrible mood swings. Over all this was a fun entertaining read, for a cold, icy winter evening. Book three has not been published yet. For ages 16 and up, due to the lack of adult themes. But this not a YA book. A chick lit mystery. Grab a cup of tea and enjoy. AD

There are great characters and you aren't quite sure "who done it" until the last couple of chapters. I am looking forward to the next Stormy Day story!

This is the story of Stormy Day, a woman who has moved back to her home town and opened a gift shop. Running the gift shop doesn’t make her feel fulfilled and she’s feeling a bit bored. Her father is a retired cop who is recovering after hip surgery. She visits him at his house one day and sees an application for a private investigator license. She thinks it’s for him and he’s going to ask her to be his partner. Turns out he got it for her. The story takes off after Voula Vargas, the town psychic/card reader gets murdered and she and her father try to solve the mystery of who did it. The ending is an intro for the next book so a bit of a cliffhanger, which is why I gave it a four.
