Remy Guidry doesn't do relationships. He tried the marriage thing once, back in Louisiana, and learned the hard way that all he really needs in life is a cold beer, some good friends, and the occasional hookup. His job as a bodyguard with McKay-Taggart gives him purpose and lovely perks, like access to Sanctum. The last thing he needs in his life is a woman with stars in her eyes and babies in her future.Lisa Daley's life is finally going in the right direction. She has finally graduated from college after years of putting herself through school. She's got a new job at an accounting firm and she's finished her Sanctum training. Finally on her own and having fun, her life seems pretty perfect. Except she's lonely and the one man she wants won't give her a second look. There is one other little glitch. Apparently, her new firm is really a front for the mob and now they want her dead. Assassins can really ruin a fun girls' night out.Suddenly strapped to the very same six-foot-five-inch hunk of a bodyguard who makes her heart pound, Lisa can't decide if this situation is a blessing or a curse. As the mob closes in, Remy takes his tempting new charge back to the safest place he knows - his home in the bayou.Surrounded by his past, he can't help wondering if Lisa is his future. To answer that question, he just has to keep her alive.

Close Cover was a great read with BSDM, love, emotion and so much more. This book was addicting and I could not put it down. The chemistry between the charters and sexual tension was what made this book great. I'm excited to read the others authors who joined into this crossover collection!

Ohh la la. Remy Guidry has me pining for a French speaking Cajun boy and a big plate for gumbo.   Lisa is a good girl but with a dirty side.   I can't wait for the rest of the crossover series.

I have been waiting for this book for what feels like a MILLION YEARS!!! Ok, so not that long but ever since we met Lisa and Remy in Adored I have wanted them to have a book. Remy is a strong Alpha male who has a poet's soul and Lisa is a strong heroine who wants to stand on her own. There is mystery and suspense plus some hilarious scenes! Both Remy and Lisa have had to overcome some major obstacles in their lives. Remy is the classic hero who does not think he is good enough for Lisa and misjudges her at the beginning of the story. The poetry ( yes ,you read that right! Remy has some spoken word poetry in the book) and the imagery is off the charts. The emotion in the scenes is beautiful and sometime heartbreaking, this is a book that will make you feel the emotion being described. There is a scene at the end that of the book is so beautiful it reads like a painting. Oh did I also say this book is HILARIOUS! Lexi Blake has a way to write sarcasm like a love language. You need this book in your life!

Another phenomenal read by Lexi Blake!!!! This book sucked me in from the beginning, and keeps you there til the very last page. I loved Remy and Lisa. Lisa may come off as a shy sub at first, but that girl has more sass and spunk than a lot of women, and I love Remy’s reaction to it the first time it comes out. The sparks fly between these two, and it’s not long before they are heating up the pages. The suspense elements were fantastic, and will have you on the edge of your seat. This is definitely a must read!!!

OH EM GEE REMY!!!! Yes, I had to say it that way because it rhymed. And because Remy is just so amazing! I can just imagine his Cajun accent and the French and oh it's magic. But I have a thing for foreign languages and accents anyway. I’m not one for audiobooks but I’d be all over listening to this as an audio book! *hint hint* This one didn’t strike me as quite as BDSM-y as some of the other McKay-Taggart couples. Maybe just because Lisa was more demure, or so Remy thought. There was some playing at Sanctum but there was a fabulous love story between Lisa and Remy too. I sorta hope some of Remy’s family might have their own books??? Jean-Claude perhaps?

Lisa is an accountant who has uncovered some suspicious activity at the company where she works. She does the right thing and reports it to authorities but now she finds her life in danger and her family has hired McKay-Taggart to provide security for her. Remy works for McKay-Taggart but he has decided it is time for him to return to Louisiana to be near his family but when he hears that Lisa is in danger there is no way that he will leave until he knows she is safe. The last person that Lisa wants protecting her is Remy as when she offered herself to him at Sanctum he declined and it not only caused a distance between them but because of his rejection she has withdrawn from Sanctum as well. Remy turned Lisa down not because he wasn’t attracted to her but because he felt that she could do better than him. Now that they are forced into close contact the feelings between them explode but will Remy be able to protect Lisa and what happens when the assignment ends? This author has once again written a tale filled with intrigue, twists and red hot chemistry. The characters are complex and compelling and you can’t help but cheer for them to find their happy ever after and it is always fun to catch up with the other characters at McKay-Taggart.

5 Star Review of Close Cover (Masters and Mercenaries #16) by Lexi Blake Close Cover is book 16 in Lexi Blake’s Masters & Mercenaries series and is part of the current Lexi Blake Crossover Collection. Nobody does romantic suspense books like Lexi Blake. If you like sexy alpha males, some BDSM, smoking hot scenes and characters that will melt your heart and your panties, then look no further. This is McKay-Taggart operative Remy Guidry and Lisa Daley’s story. Remy doesn’t do relationships, his past marriage has damaged him too much. However there is something about Lisa and the feelings that she brings out in him, he just can’t seen to help himself. Lisa is a strong and independent woman who is determined to see justice is carried out and because of that her life is now in danger from the mob. Remy is a bodyguard for McKay Taggart and he goes undercover to protect Lisa Daley, all the while telling himself that he can keep it purely professional; he doesn’t count on Lisa and her attraction to him or the feelings that she brings to the surface in him. Close Cover is filled with suspense, danger, intrigue and the growth of a deep and committed love; one that made my heart pound at times. Lexi Blake always ensure that her characters are never one dimensional or superficial. I was engrossed from the first chapter to the last. As always it was great to see some familiar faces pop into the book.

What do you do when you discover your boss is ‘cooking the books’ and might be doing business with the mob? If you are Lisa – you take the information you have and report it to the police. With the task of halting the illegal operations in the forefront, Lisa quickly discovers that her quest for the truth just placed her life in danger. Working for McKay-Taggart has provided plenty of traveling and exciting adventures over the years. Now Remy is planning to head home to Louisiana to purchase a business owned by other family members, and save the town from falling prey to corporate America. When the news landed in Remy’s ears that Lisa’s family was hiring McKay-Taggart to provide bodyguard services for Lisa, nothing could stop the Cajun from volunteering to take on the assignment. This is not the first time Lisa and Remy would cross paths. The two previously entertained fantasies about one another at Sanctum. As one of the Doms at Sanctum, Remy has desired Lisa from afar. Never thinking that he was ‘good enough’ for the beautiful girl who haunts his dreams. What Remy did not know was that Lisa felt the same way about him. Wanting the handsome Cajun, but having him turn her down had halted her days at Sanctum. Now the two find themselves intersecting paths, and can no longer ignore the passion that has ignited beneath the surface. With Lisa’s safety in jeopardy, Remy has the perfect ‘excuse’ to spend as much time with Lisa as possible. Their days are numbered, in more ways than one, and the two know their encounters are on a time limit. Where will they land once the dust settles? Will either be able to walk away without any repercussions from their relationship? Get ready for a Masters & Mercenaries that will take you to the bayou. Remy and Lisa are definitely going to heat up your reader and lead you on a whirlwind of lust and longing. Both have fought their attraction for one another in the past, but now find it no longer reasonable to do so. In spite of needing Remy’s protection from those that wish her harm, Lisa can’t help but wonder what the future holds. Lisa if far from escaping the danger that plagues her, but Remy is determined not to let anything happen to the girl that has captured his soul. It was a nice touch to have some of my favorite McKay-Taggart characters back in action in this novel. This romance hold just the right amount of action, suspense, and smoking hot romance! The extra icing on the cake was visiting Remy’s hometown, and all of the antics that took place in the bayou!! I would LOVE to see another book deal with life in Papillon!!!

Lexi does another great job bring Remy and Lisa's story! I love the Masters and Mercenaries series and Remy is no exception. You think that things will get hot and heavy between these characters... It is more intense! I have not read a Lexi Blake book in forever and I remember now why I was so addicted! Remy is a character I adore and want to be under his protection. He was stubborn at first, until Lisa finally breaks down his barriers. The drama magnitude in Close Cover was off the charts. I was nervous that things would not be okay when this was all said and done. Lisa was a kick a$% heroine and I was rooting for her all the way! This is the first book I have read in the Lexi Blake crossover series. I was excited to see what we would get with these amazing characters! Can not wait to dive into the next book

4.25 stars--edgy and sexy 4.25 stars-- CLOSE COVER is the sixteenth full-length instalment in Lexi Blake’s contemporary, adult MASTERS AND MERCENARIES erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women who work for the McKay-Taggart and Knight Security Agency. This is security specialist Remy Guidry, and twenty-nine year old accountant Lisa Daley’s story line. CLOSE COVER is part of the Lexi Blake multi-authored cross-over series. CLOSE COVER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. NOTE: CLOSE COVER is an erotic romance story line with sexually explicit, light BDSM scenarios that may not be suited for all readers. Told from dual third person perspectives (Lisa and Remy) CLOSE COVER focuses on the building relationship, a second chance romance between accountant / submissive Lisa Daley, and security specialist /Dominant Remy Guidry. Months earlier Lisa offered herself as submissive to Remy Guidry but our hero wasn’t interested breaking Lisa’s heart in the process but desperate times call for desperate measures, and Lisa is the primary witness in a money laundering case, and Remy has drawn the short straw to protect the woman that calls to his heart. What ensues is the re-building relationship between Remy and Lisa, and the potential fall-out as their time together draws to a close. The relationship between Lisa and Remy is one of second chances. Lisa was humiliated and heartbroken when Remy refused her offer of submission but Remy knows his time in Texas is limited as he heads back to the Bayou, and the family he left behind. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense with some light BDSM scenarios including rope play. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including many of the couples from the earlier instalments as well as DS Maia Brighton, Dom and Top’s bar manager Lincm and bodyguard Shane Landon. CLOSE COVER brings together the characters we love as the author heads into her new spin –off focusing on the Lost Boys. CLOSE COVER is an edgy and sexy story line with a sassy heroine, and a driven hero. The premise is intense and dramatic; the romance is emotional and provocative; the characters are familiar, sensual and inspiring. CLOSE COVER is a thrilling and exquisite ride.

This book…..I don’t even know where to begin! This is Lexi Blake’s book in the Crossover Series that she is doing with several other authors. It is book 16 in her Masters and Mercenaries series, and I knew going in, that I’d love it, because I’ve adored all of the other books in the series. But Remy….. Remy begins the story with a hard ass persona, you know what I’m talking about, all gruff, and closed off, not making a connection with anyone and holding himself apart. And the initial interaction with Lisa…well I kinda can’t blame her for not wanting anything to do with him. He was kinda a jerk. But, he is a total alpha male, and that is how they roll when they don’t really know what to do with what they are feeling. Lisa is a strong independent woman, who grew up in a less than perfect setting. She worked hard to become who she is, but has gotten in over her head with some pretty bad people. She doesn’t really even realize how bad they are. Her life is spiraling out of control, and she is quickly running out of options to take that control back. Remy and Lisa are so perfect for each other! She is everything he thinks he can’t have, and he is everything she wants and needs. And the scenes between Remy and Lisa! OMG so swoon-worthy and HOT! The way they are together makes me just want to melt! This book has elements of BDSM, specifically a D/s relationship, but doesn’t include much in the way of the more hardcore stuff. It really highlights some of the more beautiful aspects of this type of relationship. This story is packed full of not only the development of this relationship, along with all of its ups and downs, but also lots of the familial relationship we’ve come to expect from the McKay-Taggart Clan, bad guys, suspense, and all of the action to keep everything moving. There were parts that I couldn’t help but laugh at the group dynamics, and parts that were so beautiful, I had to hold back tears. All of the makings of a truly superb book that totally took my breath away and kept me hooked from first page to last!

I haven't read all the Master's and Mercenaries books, but it wasn't an issue in order to enjoy this one! I love how pithy these guys can be, yet funny! The 'full douche' team is an interesting mix and they become the important characters in the other author's spins. So, in that respect, it might be interesting to read this one first. Not necessary though (as you can see, I clearly started with Rescuing Sadie!). I struggled with Remy at first. He was so incredibly judgmental! I, like Bridget, was ready to fire his butt before he was even hired. However, he does come around and I really found myself enjoying the story. There isn't a whole lot of BDSM, which I appreciated. Remy's poetry during sex is super hot! The plot is mostly focused on Lisa's troubles and her and Remy's relationship. I found myself looking forward to getting back to reading it which is always a good sign!

You're kidding? RBG was and is the Ruth Buzzi of the US Supreme Court. Not to mention her opinions are some of the worst to come out of the court. Not a very good physical and intellectual image for your heroines. Probably wont buy another book by this author. Not a good idea to bring up politics in your books. I read to get away from politics. Its very frustrating to spend hard earned money on a book only to be subjected to some ones political views. Book was boring. Save your money.
