Bree and Logan are the perfect fit. You have one stubborn VP of Simpson Steel and one architect who has been trying to make his mark. When the man he travels across the ocean to confront turns out to be none other then the women able to change his life does Logan choose love. Bree has to fight for everything she has earned in her chosen business, but she is good and up until now she hasn't been meet with much violence....but with letters, bombs, kidnapping, shootings, a bricks through the window she is rethinking her stance. Does she choose the high road or does she lower her standards. This book is what a romantic suspense is all about. I loved how the author continues bringing us tidbit of the other Simpson family members and how she kind of gives us hints into future stories. I am looking forward to all that this series brings to me. Oh and Shirley is still hilarious, between her antics and her sayings strung across her walker she will make you laugh at all times.

What a thrilling story.  Brooks easily balances suspense with romance and a huge dash of reality on the side.  Comic relief comes in the form of every day events that you could plausibly picture happening to yourself or someone you know, making it even funnier.  Put this all together in a well-developed, visually described setting and you have a winner.  Not only that, but the storyline itself is unique and very intuitive without going overboard. I loved getting to know the main character in this novel.   A strong willed female in a male dominated industry was quite the match for equally strong willed yet kind male lead.  The depth & breadth of character that we see here is remarkable.  Brooks also develops them in a well-rounded, intricate manner that sets them before you like real people rather than simply story-book characters.   Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel.  The suspense and drama kept me captivated while the characters made it real.  This is definitely a series that I’ll continue following.   Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

A 170 page book for 4.99 and second in series of a woman VP of family construction firm, her trials and tribulations with the competition, and the architect she believes is helping to sabatoge her job site. Drama, angst, attempted murder, sexual attraction, explicit sex, romance, drama, abuse. A part of this book and the previous one gives a scenario of physical abuse and a lecture in the dialog. The romance scenes dialog is very dramatic and quite of the Harlequin variety. The ending is a cliffhanger into the next sister's story. This is a novel about a family that is divided and sold as individual books - I wonder how much money Michner could have made if he had done this with Hawaii or Tolstoy with Dr Zhivago.

I just finished reading this and loved it so much I could not put it down.  Kathleen Brooks created a wonderful fun filled story for these two characters that kept me laughing.  Bree's antics as a troublemaker and Logan's willingness to embrace that and call her out on the not so good aspects were wonderfully written.  The book flowed beautifully.  All of Kathleen's characters helped contribute to the over all feel of the book which pulled you right in and makes you wish there were more than just the three sisters and Elle's best friend for the series.

Fabulous story! Kathleen Brooks is amazing! Yet again she's created a series that captivates us all, leaving us wishing that we could go meet the Simpson family, much like the residents of Keeneston. Action, romance, suspense - it's got it all. These romantic suspense stories truly do feature strong female heroines, pages that leave you racking your brain, laugh out loud moments and swoon-worthy happily-ever-afters. Can't wait for the next installment - thanks, Kathleen!

Every book I read by Kathleen Brooks is amazing! Loved Bree and Logan and I must say the part in the French restaurant was my favorite! Although the cop hiding the evidence bag was also up there on the list. Can't wait to read Allegra and Finn's story

I love Kathleen Brooks' work and this book is no different. This series is great and I love the Simpson sisters. This one focuses on Bree Simpson and her construction business. As a woman in a man's world, Bree has fought for everything she has. In this book, she is facing an enemy who is trying to destroy her and take over her current project. Enter Logan Ward, the elusive architect that Bree thinks has been deliberately stalling her project. Bree meets Logan when he saves her life. The attraction they feel for each other is instant. Logan finds himself wanting Bree more and more. Even though Bree wants Logan as much as he wants her, she continually tries to pull away from him to maintain her independence. As the threats to Bree and her family grow and the danger becomes greater, Logan and Bree find themselves falling in love with each other. Logan is determined to help Bree find the threat to her life and her company and protect her at all costs. The story unfolds with quite a bit of drama and suspense. There is some humor thrown in along with the hot chemistry between Bree and Logan. Kathleen Brooks does a great job once again of keeping you entertained from start to finish!

Loved it. Another great one. Loved the characters and story. Very sweet and a bit of excitement as usual. I've read all of Kathleen Brooks books. Wonderful romance author. Also it's either envelop or envelope. Envelop means like when you envelop someone in a big hug and envelope will hold your letter. Proof readers beware.

Loved this book. I think they get better with every story she writes! I appreciate the fact that her love scenes are not so graphic. Some things are best left to the readers imagination. Can't wait for the next book in the series and any others she writes!
