From USA Today bestselling author W Winters comes an emotionally captivating and thrilling, romantic suspense.

Her lips tasted like Cabernet and her touch was like fire.
I was blinded by what she did to me. I so easily fell for something I thought I'd never have.

I was weak for her and should've known better. I should've known she could never love a man like me.

She brought out a side of me that I wish had stayed dead.

I won't make the same mistake twice.
I don't care how much she begs me.
I don't care that I crave her more than anything else...

I was really looking forward to the end of Aria and Carter's story but instead we have to wait for another book Book two ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. Book three picks up there and is the book where the war between the families begins. Aria's situation has changed somewhat for the better, although she is a complete emotional wreck. Carter feels betrayed but I feel no sympathy for him at all. Aria on the other hand is in an impossible situation and I do feel sorry for her. I'm not going to lie, I have a hard time relating to either of these characters. I don't understand how Carter thinks or how he justifies the things he does to Aria, and I don't understand how Aria could fall in love with someone who mistreated her as he did and continues to makes her life hell, but it is what it is. I might not be a fan of Carter, and many things that happen in these books make me really angry, but at the end of the day this series is engrossing and well-written and I can't wait to see how it all ends. I'm hopeful that Carter will somehow redeem himself because I really want a happy ending for everyone, including Daniel and Addison and the other Cross brothers, Declan and Jase. *If you haven't read Possessive yet, I highly recommend you actually begin with that book. It's Daniel and Addison's story which takes place prior to the beginning of Merciless, the first book of the Merciless series. It isn't necessary to read it but it does provide more background on the Cross brothers, as does the book A Kiss To Tell, which provides glimpses of teenage Carter before he became the powerful criminal figure he is in Merciless. ** I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Carter and Aria are back Carter and Aria’s story continues. We start with Aria holding a gun on Carter and things take off from there. What will happen to their relationship and who is really causing all of the trouble? It doesn’t seem like it’s the other two families.

Breathless continues the story of Aria and Carter with Addison and Daniel thrown into the mix. Carter does not take what he views as Aria’s traitorous actions when she holds a gun on him well. When Addison finds out how Carter has treated Aria and that Daniel knew and did nothing to stop it she’s furious. The story evolves from there with the two women becoming even closer than they were before while the men struggle to win back their affections and loyalties. The pace is fast the scenes are hot and emotional. Aria continues to try to get Carter not to wage war with her family. She enlists Nikolai to help keep her father under control as well. The cliffhanger has me “Breathless” and not wanting the wait for the next book to be “Endless”! Jace’s interest in a feisty brunette was piqued at the end of “Breathless” and I’m hoping their story will be coming soon. Please write faster Willow don’t make the wait “Endless”!

Breathless leaves you just that! Over and over. You are holding your breath with the love that these two share together, but can never seem to win with the obstacles of the family war. Then you are holding your breath trying to see which side of power will succeed. Aria truly decides to fight back after all this time and it is amazing to see her in action. Carter is proud of course, but still knows that the unthinkable still must happen to her family and that leaves him at war with himself on how to win both battles, Talvery and Aria. These two-need oxygen to breath, but they need each other to breath without asthma is how I see it! Love how far Addie has come in the story as well! Guns blazing to claim the turf keeps you on the edge of your seat as you are reading. The tension and passion Aria and Carter continue to share leaves you Breathless a few times. It’s like you take two steps forward and then back right into a brick wall with how much this is going to destroy them. Sometimes love isn’t enough and these two may not get their HEA. So, until we can get our hands on Endless, grab some Eli’s Cheesecake as your comfort food and eat, weep and sleep until we can see where the demise of their actions will play out. This book is apart of a series that must be read in order. You must read Merciless (#1), Heartless (#2) and then Breathless (this book, #3) to follow this story. The final book, Endless (#4) just may not have any mercy on our souls or Carter/Aria’s either so try to keep the heart in tack and keep breathing until the conclusion is revealed cause it sure does feel like there is no end in sight between these two battles in this emotion packed romantic suspense.

This book, this series is simply so good!. Carter and Aria's story is captivating and intense, and as the title suggests you will be left gasping for breath as book three picks up right where book two ended. The complexities of these characters is stunning and you find both your mind and heart completely engaged and invested in these two. My heart truly breaks for these two. Their love for each other is directly at odds with who they are and this makes their romance both beautiful and heartbreaking. I can feel for Aria and heaven knows I would not want to be in her place emotionally; but I hated so many of her actions and the horrible, painful damage that happed because of them. Carter makes my heart hurt. He may not be a good man, but there is goodness in him and he needs love, loyalty, and someone willing to stand by his side so badly. We are left with a cliffhanger in preparation of the next book. I know this couple has a lot more pain, drama, twists, danger, secrets to uncover and fallout to be dealt with before it's all said and done and I can not wait for the next book!!

Three family fighting over territory, in between there is always going to be casualties- hopefully Aria Talvery will find Mercy in Carter Breathless starts right where Heartless left off, & the book does not slow down from there. I really don’t want to say much more then ➳Loyalties are tested & boundaries are pushed to the limit. ➳ The stunt Aria pulled will it put bigger wedges in between her & Carter, oh & the families? ➳ Can Carter hold on to the only women he has ever trusted with his secrets with? And after all the bullets stop will she still love him so deeply? We learn in this book that there is truly is a thin line between Love & hate. The man we love to hate show us that he might just have heart, but that dark heart has only seen hate & darkness.. Can Aria show him there is light somewhere deep down in his black heart? ➳This book left me Breathless & wanting so much more… the twist & curve balls that W Winter keeps throwing these two, will leave us desperately wanting more & it will have you at edge of your seat begging for ??? Well at least it did me. ➦ Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion & my honest review ➦ would I recommend this book: Hell Yes. ➦ would I recommend this Series : Hell Yes. ✎Paulette Review ❤

A fitting title for another installment in the Carter/Aria saga ------ This book is not a stand-alone and must be read in series order. This installment picks up exactly where Heartless ends and will leave your head spinning by the last page, breathlessly waiting for the conclusion to Carter and Aria's story. The war is raging around the families and within their hearts. The love between Carter & Aria is different but all-consuming. It's part of their identities and gives them strength to be who they truly are. But life has not been easy on either of them, and they are trying to find a way to survive the battle. As with the other stories in this series and keeping inline with the theme, it's sad, heartbreaking in parts, and filled with darkness and violence. The story here is better paced than the prior book. There's so much that happens in this part, it's tough to put the book down. There's an equal balance of character growth and turf war events. They don't spend a lot of time on page, but their connection is still a living breathing thing between them. I was glad to finally see Aria find some footing. She's still lost, but somehow, slowly discovering how strong she truly is. I cannot wait to see how it all ends. /I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. This did not affect my opinion of the book or content of my review./

This is the 3rd book in the Merciless series and they should be read in order. Aria betrayed Carter and chose her family over him and in doing so may have lost the man she loves. The war has begun and to win, Aria’s family will die. Is there a way to save their love? This is a fast-paced intense read with loads of drama. I loved the characters as well as the story. Intense, steamy and action-paced. A great read!

Breathless will leave you breathless. Carter and Aria are at a cross roads. Just as things started to get good with them Aria's past relationships threaten to tear her and Carter apart. Loyalties are being tested and forgiveness and trust is questionable when both Carter and Aria are set in what they want the end result to be. Determined, Aria will do anything to save the lives of her loved ones, even defy Carter and lose the one man she has ever loved. Torn, Aria does the unthinkable and Carter is left with a hole in his heart. Fearing for her life, Aria does anything she can to escape Carter's rage, even ending up in the one place she fears the most. Poor Addison gets caught up in the after-mass and soon she and Daniel's relationship is on the rocks. Needing much time apart, Addison and Aria leave one safe house for another. In her new surroundings, Aria questions her actions and finds herself craving and missing the safety and security she felt in the presence of Carter. However she uses her time apart from Carter to try and stop the war that's brewing between the three rivals. As much as she hates her father, she doesn't want to see him or others she cares for and loves die. Carter allows Aria to choose what she wants to do, using it as an opportunity to see what she will do. Will she chose her family or Carter? How far would she go to defy him? Although Carter has eyes on Aria at all times, there is threat that wants to end Aria to get to Carter. Not knowing who and when they'll attack, Carter is left vulnerable because he has shown how much Aria means to him. As much as he fights it, Aria is still his world, his everything, HIS. Will this new threat get Aria and in the end destroy Carter? I couldn't put this book down, Willow Winters just keeps delivering a bigger and better storyline. Although Carter and Aria's relationship is far from traditional, what they have and share is unique and special for them. Aria is growing into a stronger woman even though there are so many times she is falling apart and reaching her breaking point. These moments only make her stringer in the end. I also want to bop Carter over the head because there were so many times I just wanted him to tell Aria that he loves her. That is all she wants to hear from his lips, but it might be too late. I can't wait for Endless so we can see if Carter and Aria ill end up as lovers or enemies.

WOW!! This title is perfectly named. I was left breathless after reading this book. Willow's books get better and better each time she writes. We start off right where 'Hearltess' left. Willow knows how to bring out the feels and she sure does with Carter and Aria. This is the third book of Carter and Aria's story and it is a do not miss. Aria and Carter are enemies, but can't help but love each other. They will have a lot to go through in this book and it will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. Aria doesn't know what to do. The people that she loves are going to be going to war and she knows that people will die, but she wants to find a different solution. War is coming and it's coming soon. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and I could not put it down. There is a lot of action, heartbreak, love, death, twists and turns, guilt and other emotions that you will also feel. In this one you get to see more of Daniel, Addison, Jace and Declan. These Cross boys will take your heart and never give it back. Do not miss any of these books.

OMG! What a fantastic book! I literately had to wait a day before writing my review to collect my thoughts and am still not sure if I can get them out in a way that expresses how much I loved this book! Aria and Carter's story picks up right where Heartless left off. And man what a shocker that was. Aria is left with a choice to make and Carter doesn't know what will happen. He is having trouble coming to terms with what is going on and once the drama is settled Aria is afraid Carter is not going to let her explain why she did what she did and that she only wants this war to end. This book was so intense that at times I had to put it down and take a brake even though I really didn't want to. Carter is having a hard time understanding that the revenge he wants may destroy what he and Aria have. The love she has for him will not go away though. Carter shows us a more vulnerable side of himself in this book while Aria seems to be coming into her own. She is much stronger than she is given credit for at times and will fight for what she believes in. I like that we also get to see Jace's pov on what is going on and get a peek at him. Deep down Aria and Carter really do love one another and the thought of them not getting past all the drama surrounding them is heartbreaking. It had me feeling so much. The story line will definitely pull you in from the very beginning and by the end you will be at the edge of your seat wanting more. Carter and Aria have become one of my favorite couples. I can not wait until the next book. There is still so much more of their story to find out about. Ms Winter has a way of weaving so much into a story that has you wondering how someone is able to do it. This book was absolutely Breathless! Looking forward to Endless! Bravo Willow!!

Even though it’s only been a few weeks since Heartless released, I’ve been dying to find out what happened next in the third part of this thrilling, intense four part series. As always, Willow keeps us all on our toes with the nail-biting drama and suspense. This book was a really fast read, I devoured it quickly, I was so desperate to find more answers to the questions plaguing not just Aria and Carter but me too. So, we start Breathless right where Merciless finished off. Aria’s left dealing with the fallout from her actions, which doesn’t help in the war between their rival families. Their feelings are more than challenged as they battle their demons. I loved reading this, even though Carter has a truly bad side, it’s Aria he loves and only she will be able to save him but they have a long, hard road ahead of them before that’s likely to happen. There was so much dark, thrilling and dangerous crazy things happening in this book and it’s still not over. Now we have to wait for part four, thankfully not as long as its title, Endless.

Breathless will literally leave you Breathless. Throughout the books entirety, you’re on the edge of your seat. Carter’s possessiveness becomes more in this book, if that’s even possible. Aria seems to find herself a bit and realizes exactly what she wants and needs. I cannot wait to see what the final book in Carter and Aria's story holds. Willow whipped up yet another masterpiece that will affect you long after the book is closed.

BREATHLESS - Will Make Your Hair Stand On End and definitely leave you BREATHLESS. This story has definitely exceeded my wildest expectations. An engrossing story that had my emotions running high with heart-pounding suspense, spine-chilling action, life-threatening issues, tear-jerking moments, dynamic vivid scene descriptions, and intimate moments. The characters take on a life of their own as the story starts where Heartless left off. Aria has become more of force and Carter finds himself still giving orders for War; speculating where he and Aria will be in the end. Horrific danger waits in the dark to pounce and a mystery to be solved. SUPERB THRILLING read that I could not put down until the last word and I still wanted more. The author has done a fabulous job with the characters she has created. Thought-provoking scenes had me feeling pain for the characters as I teared up and sighed too. I know the next book is coming and I await to find out the conclusion of this spellbinding story. Relished this story {of my own volition without any stipulations, I reviewed an advanced copy.} Without hesitation, I recommend this read.

I am not sure of the best way to start my review as Carter and Aria's story continues with so many twists, that I felt a little "Breathless" while reading. I loved seeing more connections between others in the Cross family as the story heats up, and the war begins with the Talvery family. Aria is becoming more of a force in her own right, and it seems to me that falling in love with Carter, she is becoming a much stronger person. An amazing story, I cannot wait to read what comes next for Carter and Aria. 5 Stars!

Oh my gosh Willow, you’re killing me! This is the best series, so many twists and turns. Just when I think I’ve got a good read on Carter and Aria, something new will throw me completely off. This couple is so, so wrong for each other, but at the same time no two people need to be together more than they do. Breathless picks up immediately where Heartless left off and fair warning, hold on tight, it’s an all out freaking amazing ride! Loved getting more Daniel and Addison in this book and still can’t wait for Jase and Declan to get their stories. I’m wondering if we maybe saw a little of Jase’s future love in a bar scene or it could just be wishful thinking on my part. Loved the book, fairly quick read, would’ve been quicker if I didn’t have to sleep and work. Again Ms. Winters, wow, you slay me, but I’ll keep coming back for more!

War, it's on the horizon, at least the physical war between the three families. It's clear it is coming. War, it's brewing, in the emotions of both Carter and Aria. The stunt Aria pulled drives wedges into places they shouldn't be. Love and hate are both strong emotions and will hate win out? Can Aria end all of this or does she just add fuel to the fire. And now, there is a new foe, one that just may turn everyone's axis on end. Isn't the saying, "All is fair in love and war?" but is it really? 1 like

Wow, A fantastic third instalment to Carter and Aria's incredibly emotionally charged story. I loved Merciless and Heartless, but breathless just got better. This series is shaping up to be a amazingly unforgettable series. breathless is a incredibly well written, engaging, emotional book with a intriguing storyline. Action and tragedy that left me holding my breath reading as fast as I could. Along with addictive characters, plus yet another ending to leave you on the edge of your seat. This all adds up to a brilliant book. I love the Cross brothers, it was great to see more of Daniel, Addison and Jase in this book. Can't wait for the next book.
